An Observation: Vani

After I drew out a short character analaysis, there are certain things.

Bani's reaction to Veer is based off on what she remembers about Aakesh. Aakesh, while obsessively in love with her, betrays her. Nageshwari gives him the benefit of the doubt and lets him enter the temple. Soon enough, Aakesh betrays her and kills her beloved naag- Hriday. Neither does she try to learn about Aakesh then nor does Bani try to know Veer. From Aakesh to Veer, there is a quite change in them which Bani is oblivious to. Bani had no idea about Veer's inner reaction to her. She doesn't know the kind of effect she has on Veer. Unless she finds out that she can change Veer and make him better, she wouldn't be able to understand where she stands in Veer's life.

Bani and Veer are strongly in line with their animal tendencies. Veer isn't quick to make his opinion. Like an eagle, he chooses to assess the surroundings then make up a decision. For example:- When he sees Bani taking the glass that belonged to Jay (well Jay disguised as Mayuri), he doubts that maybe, just maybe she is Naagin. Yet, he doesn't jump to the conclusion. He tries to find out through a test. (Okay, I admit. It was failed a test because he still didn't get to the truth). Bani, on the other hand, is quick to make up a conclusion. When she sees the video of Veer carrying Noor's body, she makes up her mind that Veer killed her.

Speaking of a meaning, Eagles are equated with far-sightedness. They can see things with a far sight. The bigger thing in the whole point. Veer sees that in Bani. Veer knows that even if it takes a while Bani can finally reach the truth. He assessed her feelings about Jay and realizes that the way she blindly trusts Jay, she won't believe his words and hence tells her to find out about it on her own. Veer sees Bani's potential even when he doesn't know that she's Adi-Naagin. Veer's far sight is still clouded by his darkness in ways that he can't see the truth in several things.

Snakes are equated for their short-sightedness. They're known to be aggressive and have a poor eye sight. Bani shows quite well. (Of course, borderlining on being extremely annoying at times) She can easily be tapped into her temper. It is easy to provoke her and make her do something stupid. Her short-sightedness makes her unable to see hints. She can't look past Veer's shadow of being Aakesh. She is quick to jump to conclusions and making up assumptions.

You can even note in the way Veer fights. He's not provoked easily. He is good with assessing his surroundings. The way Bani fights is like a spectacled cobra, hissing violently and attacking aggressively. If we note this, it is easy to see that they have their own animalistic tendencies. She is powerful but blinded by her short-sight. Veer is comparitively less aggressive but he is tactful.

Bani's biggest problem is her inner confusion. In her conscience she knows that Veer is not as bad as she believes him to be. No matter how many times she tells him that she doesn't trust him at all, she does. It shows in the ways she reacts to him. He doesn't get provoked by her actions. She saves him when he's attacked by poison. She says that she saves him just out of moral duty. He saved her and that's why she saved him. Veer saves her out of love for her. I think somewhere Bani is scared to come out wrong about what she believes. Her entire life revolves around what she had known and she's scared that if it turns out to be a game, she wouldn't know anything anymore. Hence, she keeps trying to reinforce her hatred for Veer. It isn't trying to convince Veer that she hates him but rather herself. She considers him as her enemy but feels angry when Veer doesn't react the same way because she's scared that somewhere she'll melt down with the way he is with her. Veer doesn't ask for her explanation but she still gives them to tell herself why she has to hate him.

As such, Veer's reaction to Bani is in line with his inner Aakesh. He can handle her anger, her irritation, her hatred but he's not used to ignoring her. Just like Aakesh, Veer drown in his feeling when it comes to Bani. His head, heart and soul is tuned to her. Veer can't help his reaction with Bani. Ab deewane aaahiq ko kitna samjha loge? Rahega toh Woh deewana hi. We have seen the amount of rudeness Veer is capable against Bani. (Which is almost nothing compared to how much Bani has been rude to Veer) All the times when he believed that Bani killed Teer, he wasn't nice to her but that is all he can do against his heart. The major part of Veer is him doing what his heart decides. Veer's passion is tuned in the way he loves Bani. She can hate him all she wants, despise him all she wants but it wouldn't change what he feels for her.

He's soft when it comes to Bani. If she's hurt, he feels terrible. Bani feels the need to explain every emotion she feels. When she doesn't find an explanation, she gets slightly irritable. It shows when Meera di tried to tell Bani about Veer. She seems irritable because she can't explain it. It isn't normal for her. Veer just goes with the flow. Although he doesn't know anything about being Aakesh or about Nageshwari, he still loves her and he doesn't need a 'why do I love her so much' kind of dilemma. He seems content with the feeling of loving her.

Uff, yeh pyaar bhi kya cheez hai. Jisko mil jaaye use sitam ka darr hai aur jise nahi mila use na milne ka gham hai.

Although Bani's character was supposed to turn out as an independent strong woman, it seems more like a person who misunderstands everything. She feels the need to disect every single action of others, except Jay's. She feels no doubt in Jay's behavior. Like honestly, the way he keeps bursting out in temper everytime Bani refuses to kill Veer then is quite alarming. Or atleast I think it should be alarming.

A red flag for a relationship that is not based on true love is your other half getting angry at every other thing you say. Your partner getting angry at every other instance which borderlines to a violent temper is a signal of an abusive person. Second red flag is your partner depreciating you on what you do. If they keep saying that you're doing wrong on every other action, it is a red flag.

Jay gives these red flags so easily.

Last words on Vani,

Tum chahe toh nafrat ka dharna puri zindagi bhar karo

Chahe janmo janam beet jaaye par pyaar ka isteefa kabhi nahi dunga.

I'll end with Veer's line,

Main Chahe zindagi mein kuch bhi karun, Kahin bhi rahun, zinda ya murda, kuch bhi, par in aankoh ko pehchaan hi lunga.
