Maverick means someone who doesn’t follow rules or by passes the rules. Like a rebel. If u have seen the Top gun movie, that’s Tom cruise’s nickname.

Anyways, Abhinav thinks he’s a rebel and he doesn’t follow his wife. Totally irrelevant word for that situation, but as I said, may b picked up the word from thesaurus , and trying to use it with no context. That was stupid but cute.☺️
