granted 2019 ended with akshay ahead of everyone. But 2020 is so called frowning achievement all for not. Now he’s streaming movies. I mean Sooryavanshi is a huge film but I’d say they hype for it is similar to Radhe. Everyone else Aamir/Hrithik/Ranveer etc are all watch wait.

Akshay just do many film in a year but I don't think he ended 2019 ahead Hrithik Shahid and Vicky collected more than him. Bharat collect more or almost like his best earning film gn. Just good pr and modi supporter so bhakt behind him. But never ever stardom of khans. Let alone a outside India. He's known just by Indian and punjabi

Akki is far from overtaking both, but it would have been a strong possibility (especially Salman) had everything been normal.

He had one-two knockout punches ready with Sooryavanshi for March end release and Laxmmi Bomb for Eid (that too against Salman).

And then Prithviraj for Diwali day would have given him the biggest opening day of all time.

As Akki says - Everything Is Planned. But, Corona ne poora pilan satyanash kar diya, sab chaupat ho gaya and on top of that there is some negativity recently

From endorsements to consistently giving hit films in last few years, he is ahead of all the actors.

Not as a draw.

He will soon overtake Salman. Akshay has a higher volume, and Salman is taking up poor projects now. It will change after Tiger 3.

Radhe will open big. This Covid-19 break in fact helps its chances at the box office. The movie won't earn as much on the longer run because of the inferior content, but a bumper opening is on, especially if there's a vaccine by next Eid.

Tiger 3 will be Salman's last hurrah. After that, I can't see him sustaining this level of stardom, with the people he surrounds himself with, his choice of scripts, and his age.

Aamir will most likely devote his time to Mahabharata after Forrest Gump remake. That will pave the path for Akshay. However, Prabhas' Adipurush is going to be insane. So, Akshay won't be #1 with Prabhas as a pan-India star and HR always in contention.

Nope! I still think he’s just a mid level star tbh. Yes he can make four films do decent/profitable business but that’s it.. he will never be able to go higher than that, as in deliver those “event” films with record opening or biggest grossers, why? Because his model/market won’t allow it.. there’s hardly any gap between his films, there’s an Akshay trailer releasing literally every week/month (oversaturation etc/it's just too much). Besides that there's usually an Akshay movie in the theaters every three months.. making it impossible for ppl to see each and every one of them.. money/time etc

So, not only it's not possible for everyone to show up for his nth movie in a short period, the audience is divided too.. I mean, he’s all over the place, from horrifying (house full series) to random half-assed biographies or as some call them his desh-bakhti series.. so he can't keep the few neutral audiences that do show up.. That's why movies usually end up doing more or less the same amount.. there's no growth and I don't think his fan base has grown either.. twitter just makes everything seem bigger than it actually is.. For example, ppl who show up for Babyy(?) or his only other decent movie with someone like Neeraj Pandey, get disappointed when he follows it up with a movie like that Toilet one; (ok, these are just examples, I don't know the correct timeline of his movies, I mean does anyone? there are so many of them, phew 😳) so anyway, they usually then end up skipping his next. Similarly, ppl who maybe tolerate/like that Mission to Mars movie..usually don't go really go for the Housefulls or that GoodNews(?), erm is it spelt GoodNewws.. GodNewss? lol 😆

So in short, it's his fan-base +- 10%-20% neutral audience- depending on (genre, director, cast) = 120-150 crores. In comparison Aamir's one movie does at least 10x more.. Salman's (at the peak of his "second phase") does tripple as much.. Also, since he's known for making "quickies", there's no anticipation of something "extra-ordinary", you know hype wise etc. It'd have been really interesting to see how his Rohit Shetty movie would have done.. but yeah, imo he's stretched himself too thin.

First let him at least cross SRK's Chennai Express figures. SRK toh is done and dusted, he is over. So he can't top Chennai Express. But Akshay is supposed to be at the top of his game, but still can't beat the figures of a movie released 7 years ago despite hike in ticket prices.

Akshays only advantage is to release every three month a movie but his movie with good WOM can’t even surpass the BO of the youngsters forget Aamir or Salman.
