Mini turned towards the bed side table and searched the table clock with one hand while her eyes were still closed. She tried a lot but couldn’t find the clock and finally she opened her eyes irritated by the sound of its alarm. “F**k! Its 7.30am already.” Mini got up at once and sat straight on bed. She was about to jump out of the bed to start her day when Neil pulled her again on the bed.

“Neil, leave me. I am already late.” Mini said as he tried to free herself from his hold. “I don’t care. I want to hold you for some more time.” Neil replied sleepily and snuggled more into her naked body. “Neil, I have to wake up Arya also leave me na.” Mini reasoned while trying to slip from his arms but Neil kept pulling her more towards him. As their naked bodies rubbed against each other Neil felt very awake suddenly.

"Just yesterday I got you back now I am not letting you go." Neil whispered against her hair as he kissed them. "I am not running away anywhere now. So leave me." Mini smiled at him. Mini could see desires clouding his eyes again and she was tempted to lose herself once again in them but she knew she have to get out of bed this instant or else it will be too late. With heavy heart she pushed Neil and sat up straight on the bed. She grabbed her clothes and started wearing them when Neil also sat up and hugged her from behind putting his arms around her waist and resting his head on her shoulders. “You don’t want to stay for some morning fun?” Neil asked placing a kiss on her shoulders suggestively.

“No, I already had lots of night fun now I don’t have anytime for it.” Mini giggled in reply. “Are you sure?” Neil asked again as his arms traveled upwards from her waist feeling up her body. Mini took a labored breath but controlled herself with difficulty. “Yes, I am sure…let me go…” Mini tried to wear her bra when Neil covered her breast with his hands, fondling them, teasing them in between. “Wont even stay for a quickie?” Neil asked huskily as he bit her earlobe knowing well that this was her undoing. “Papa, good morning.” Arya jumped in his arms and placed a kiss on his cheeks. “Very good morning princess.” Neil replied. “Haww, papa, what happened to you? You got hurt?” Arya asked pointing towards a red mark on Neil’s skin which was visible from the few open buttons of his shirt. Mini had also came out of the bathroom till then. Neil checked out in the mirror to find a lovebite and some scratch marks. Neil looked at Mini and winked, “Princess last night there was a very wild cat in my room. She scratched me everywhere.

“What! Then you should have called me na….I love cats I would have also seen her.” Arya said innocently. “Sorry princess, I’ll call you next time to come and save me from this wild cat.” Neil laughed and Mini gasped at his answer. “Mumma, why you were not in your room? Did you guys sleep here? Together? And left me alone?” Arya was sad that her parents forgot about her. “You both must have had lots of fun without me.” Arya concluded and pouted. “Oh, that’s for sure. We had a lot of fun.” Neil replied as he looked at Mini with a broad grin. “Shut up!” Mini whispered angrily and gestured towards Arya. Neil saw that she has become upset so he lied to cheer her up. “Princess, I was just joking to tease you….mumma just came here in the morning to wake me up.” “Really?” Arya asked for confirmation. “Of course my baby. How can we forget you?” Mini replied as she kissed her on the cheeks. Arya finally smiled forgetting everything. “Come lets go now. We are like super late for the school….all thanks to your papa.” Mini said as she took Arya in her arms and went out of the room giving one last angry glare to Neil while he just laughed it off.

“Any progress on Bobby Bhatia?” Neil asked from his team. “No sir, he is not in police records. In fact, not anywhere in adhaar data, municipal data etc…its like he is some ghost.” Mickey replied. “Keep searching…he is important for this case.” Neil instructed.

“Any report from the patrolling party around the dumping area?” Neil asked further. “No, not yet. They haven’t seen any suspicious activity or person till now.” Hanuman replied this time. “Samajh mein nahi aa raha…ye case toh sulajhta hi nahi…leads to milte hain lekin sab aadhe adhure.” Hanuman shared his views.

“Hey! Don’t lose hope like that. We’ll catch that b*****d soon. I think…rather I feel…there is strong gut feeling that we are very close…there is something right before our eyes and we are not seeing it.” Neil said. “Sir, lets revise everything may be we will get to that thing.” Mickey suggested and everyone nodded in agreement.

Neil started writing on a board with a marker-

“Five victims. All were perfect people. They all visited same psychiatrist, Dr. Isha Mehra.”

“Killer has something against these kind of perfect people who have some mental issues also.”

“As far as now we doubt that Bobby Bhatia is the killer as he has visited the psychiatrist same days that of victims and they died after one day. The given address in the database was fake. Some Mr. Malhotra, the botanist lives there but the photo of Bobby Bhatia we found has been identified by the receptionist of Dr. Isha. But again….we didn’t found any information about him anywhere…he is almost a ghost.”

“Killer must be of normal build, he might have used garden scissors to cut bodies into pieces and then he dumps them in dumping ground on the outskirts of city.”

“We still don’t know how he actually murdered all the persons.”

Neil completed jotting down the points and underlined the last line. “You know the thing that we don’t know the actual cause of death is affecting our investigation. Once we know this it will be very helpful.” Neil said to no one in particular.

“Sir, even the post mortem reports couldn’t found the exact cause of death. It said that victims heart stopped working suddenly. All the victims were healthy they couldn’t have heart attack all of a sudden.” Mickey replied. “Yes, but some external particles or agents may induce heart failure.”Neil shared his views. “But then nothing of that sort was found in any victims body.” Hanuman replied. “Ya…it seems like whatever it is…it just vanished in the air.” Mickey said feeling helpless that they couldn’t do anything about it.

Mickey’s sentence caught Neil’s attention. “What did you say? Come again.” He asked. “I said..it vanished ….” Neil interrupted him. “Yes exactly…vanished….something used to induce heart attack and then it vanished from the body.”

“How is that possible?” Hanuman asked. “It is possible…I have heard about it..there are some toxins or chemical which can induce heart attacks or paralysis leaving only few micro traces in the body. They are almost undetectable by normal postmortem procedure. They need detail toxicology study and autopsy analysis to find them out.” Neil answered.

“But Sir, how is it possible now? The bodies were mutilated and we don’t even have those pieces now as we have already handed them over to the victim’s family.” Hanuman stated the obvious. “Wrong officer, we still have their vital organs left…in cases where cause of death is unknown doctors preserve their viscera (the vital organs) for further study in case the condition arises….its a standard protocol. Contact the doctors team who did the post mortem and asked them about it. Arrange for sending it to the advanced analysis. I am sure this will help us.” Neil explained.

“But this will take time.” Hanuman said. “But we have no other option….I’ll talk to the incharge officer there and request them to send us the reports as soon as possible.” Neil replied. “Meanwhile, aap log is case se jude jitney bhi log hain unpar nazar rakhiye.” Neil instructed further.

Mini was having free period in the school when she went to clerical staff section. Manmeet saw her and followed her. “I just wanted to confirm what is the duration of notice period before leaving the job.” Mini asked from the HR clerk. “Ma’am its three months from the date of your resignation.” Clerk replied. “Ok thanks,…and yes I wanted to ask there is a branch of this school in Amritsar right?” Mini asked one more doubt. “Yes ma’am we have branch in Amritsar. In fact we have the facility that any kid here can get transferred to any other branch and he/she will get preference in admission. In fact if there is a vacancy and you want to apply there then you’ll also get recommendation letter from here.” Clerk replied. “Wow…just perfect. Thanks for the info.” Mini replied feeling ecstatic. “Don’t mind me asking…are you planning to move to Amritsar?” clerk asked. “Oh yes, my husband is posted there and after sometime me and my daughter will join him there.” Mini replied and turned to go when she bumped into Manmeet who was listening to their conversation.

“Mini, you are leaving this school?” Manmeet asked shocked from the news. “Not now Manmeet but yes…after this academic year….we are shifting to Amritsar with Neil.” Mini replied and tried to walk away but Manmeet blocked her way. “Can we talk?” he asked. “Now? And about what?” Mini asked in confusion. “About you…about me….its very very important please.” Manmeet requested. Mini wanted to say no but then she noticed some staff people were looking at them as Manmeet has spoke loudly. She didn’t want to create any scene so she agreed and they went to the parking area of the school.

“What do you want to talk Manmeet?” Mini asked without wasting any time. He was about to say something when his phone buzzed. It was again his dad’s call. But he cut it instantly. “Mini, you said you and your husband were separated from a long time then how come all of a sudden you took this decision?” Manmeet asked. The hurt in his voice could not be missed. “Its none of your business Manmeet. Who are you to ask such questions from me?” Mini objected. “Oh, I have every right…every right to ask this question as this is gonna affect my life too. All this while…I was…trying to impress you…I liked you…following you like some love sick puppy…you said there is nothing left between you and your husband now suddenly after all these years he walks back into your life and you decide to go with him. Why?” Manmeet asked. Frustration was clearly visible on his face.

“Manmeet, what are you saying? You liked me….when did this happen…I thought you were just doing that as a good friend….I always treated you like that….not more than that….and yes I had said that I am separated from my husband but that didn’t mean that I was looking for another relationship .Neil came back here…then Arya…she brought us together again…we decided to settle our differences for her…..and did I ever give you any false hope? Then how come you are raising finger on me?” Mini asked getting angry now. Manmeet was about to reply when again his dad called. He looked at the phone and was frustrated and angry as hell now. Just when he was discussing the very important matter of his life, his dad had to disturb him again and again. He cut the call but it rang again. He again cut it. “For God sake! Take the call. It might be something important.” Mini advised.

“Shut up! Just shut up. Don’t you dare open your mouth you b****h! I would have know better…but I was foolishly in love with you…I thought you were different from other people…you like me…you trust me but No….you were just enjoying all my attention for your time pass. You didn’t care about my feelings. Why did you do that huh? Tell me? Why did you do that?” Manmeet asked as he shook her by her shoulders. Mini was too shocked to see him like this that she just froze and couldn’t reply anything. Never in her wildest dream she could have imagine Manmeet this way.

“Your husband…I..I searched about him…Neil Oberoi…Handsome, intelligent..a f**king IPS. Sent on special mission to catch the serial killer..impressive…very impressive who would not want to go to such a man? I am sure, he must have made his way back again in your bed…right? In fact that’s the reason you acted so desperate….all these years…away from him. Manmeet’s phone rang again. This time he took the call, “What is your f***king problem dad? Why you don’t leave me alone? Just go and pamper your other children whom you consider better than me….main toh hamesha se aapka nalayak beta than a….phir mera peechha kyu nahi chhod dete….just go to hell.” He screamed in phone and threw it away on the ground breaking it into pieces.
