What is your preference: movies in the comfort of your home or in theatre surrounded by people?

I prefer watching movies in theatre as I feel a sense of community and belonging within that space. It's like an adrenaline rush. The sense of being a part of something.

At home, I can watch but I don't enjoy it so much. I often doze off unless the movie is EXTREMELY interesting. That never happens to me in theatres.

I get an elevated sense of purpose in a cinema hall. Difficult to explain it but I rarely get bored watching a movie on the big screen. I've sat through movies which I couldn't at home, such as Blackmail, Missing, Kabir Singh, and many more.

It depends on the film. Large scale movies like Avengers, I need to experience it in the theatres with all the screaming and hooting, Indian style.

But other films these days I don't really mind watching them online. Plus the number of non-veg jokes are such I can't watch it with parents...so its more practical on laptop with headphones.

That's a good point.

However, don't you think the charm is lost on laptops? It's like reading on the Kindle, it's more affordable but somehow doesn't match upto the experience of reading a book! At least, that's how I feel.

I prefer to watch it during classes on my phone so that I can maintain my attendance and don't have to listen to boring lectures.

I only have the option of my mobile or laptop and I prefer the latter. The TV is a shared one, we don't like having televisions in our bedrooms so I cannot watch anything suggestive anyways. I can't compare laptop to Kindle tbh. Coz movies have to be watched on a screen, large enough for either you alone or with people. Kindle loses the fun of reading completely.

Plus because of all the crass shit they have in films or even for that matter Indian TV shows, I have to watch everything on my laptop anyways. On TV I can only watch reality shows, news, Pak TV shows etc.

Not a college student anymore to go to movies every month. I go for movies with family and only for a Movie like Avengers, Bahubali and Tanhaji in the theatre. (That was the last one I saw)

The large screen, 3D, atmos sound makes it an experience worth spending atleast 2 hours in traffic and 3K money for. (Tickets, transport, popcorn and dinner with the family of four)

Romance, Drama, Thriller, Ayushman's content driven movies are not worth spending so much effort time or money for as there are no special effects. And a 65 inch Large flat-screen with surround sound is good enough with hardly few bucks. So rather wait for DTH or OTT for them as and when they get telecasted.

No point in going to theatres if there are no special effects or big battle sequences or something so out of this world that justifies the big screen and atmos sound effect.

And will always wait for a review before going. Street Dancer 3D all hype but once saw the dance videos, didn't bother going to the theatre for it. OTT was good enough

And rather be safe than sorry during corona. So will not go for any theatre next one year at the very least.

If Feel like going out, then will go to the park or beach or a long drive. Anything in open space. Avoid public transport unless there is absolutely no choice. And if there is crowd strictly no go.

Order in as well, instead of dining out and shop online instead of malls. Corona is contagious and staying in enclosed spaces with a crowd is stupidity.

If it's a job or school or exam there is no choice. Safe and cheaper entertainment choices are always avaiable
