More security for Bachchans after Jaya's RS speech

Mumbai Police on Wednesday stepped up the security around celebrity couple Amitabh Bachchan and Jaya Bachchan's Mumbai residence - Jalsa.Mumbai Police said the security has been enhanced as a precautionary measure after actor turned politician Jaya Bachchan in a fiery speech slammed those who are tarnishing the film industry's image in the Upper House of the Parliament.

Without naming BJP MP Ravi Kishan who had on Monday raised the issue of the use of drugs in the film industry, Samajwadi Party MP Jaya Bachchan on Tuesday stated that she was "ashamed that yesterday one of our members in the Lok Sabha, who is from the film industry, spoke against it."

The lawmaker also said the government should stand by the entertainment industry when some people are trying to tarnish its image.She also added people working in the entertainment industry are being "flogged" by social media.Jaya Bachchan, a four-time Rajya Sabha MP had on Tuesday given a zero hour notice in the Upper House over an alleged conspiracy to defame the film industry. -- ANI

Really people just throwing muck at Bollywood are so powerful that Jaya feels threatened. We thought she dissociated from them. Aisa kya fiery speech de di?? Kya issue hain, madam kya bol rahi hai? Arre instead of saying we join hands to save our youth in Bollywood, she says she is dissociating!! Madam you never associated so you do not know.

As far as I know, Jaya has led her younger life with dignity. She would never go against anything that went beyond her beliefs. This industry is what gave her name, fame and power. Obviously, if someone is speaking against your industry and calling it a gutter then you are very well within your rights to defend your livelihood.

The problem with Kangu is that she generalized her problems as the whole industry. Everyone does drugs, everyone abused me and so on. She believes her experience matters and holds so much value that it overshadows everything else.

That is not true, as there are many actresses like Jaya who came to Bollywood and succeeded as actors without having to go through what Kangu did.

Bear in mind that she is talking about her industry, not drug use in the industry. And its true stars and superstars have stepped up to help people from the industry which KR also has conveniently never mentioned. Did she bother to lend a helping hand from her mansion in Himanchal? #justsaying

Jaya was in a different time...but being blind to what the industry is now and then shaming others for calling out on it I feel is too much......If she cares for it, she should lend a hand in cleaning it up and bringing its dignity back....instead of making speeches to be heard in the parliament. Parliament mein speech deke what is going to happen. If you care about it, take action....actions speak louder than words!

And the so-called help is nothing but free publicity for them while making good connections with politicians. There is not one of them who truly does anything more than free campaigning!! Like I said the common man with his limited means does much more charity proportionate to his income than these ducks in mansions.

It looks like people have decided that the Bollywood is a big bad world and any narrative that doesn’t match with it, is not acceptable.How about trying to get all the point of views?How do you know that the times are different? Way to write off someone because they don’t belong to the so called ‘now’, Very old method of shutting up someone (especially the elderly ones) when one doesn’t have anything better to say.
