WHY did he do this ???

Last weeks episode showed the DIG trying all the time to give the revolver to Abhijeet. He himself was holding it with a cloth. But then left it on the table for Abhijeet. Why??? Did he have some specific motive behind it??? If Abhijeet had even holded it his finger prints would have come on it. So..... will that lead to something.

It looks like the revolver is something special..........
