Literally what reputation?? We have heroes still acting in movies post convictions related to terror attacks that rocked the country. We have heroes notorious for cheating on their partners. Others that are known druggies. Please tell me. What reputation are they worried about?

And that it sends a positive message to those who want to join the industry and not get bogged down by these nonsensical agendas.

It's good that they released a statement but what I meant is that neither the media nor the fans will pay much attention to this. They are not that aware of the Producer's Guild so it doesn't make the kind of impact their names would make.

Regarding the industry, people need to stop slandering it because of a few bad apples. Is the business community all horrible because people like Mark Zuckerburg (helps fascists), the Ambanis, Vijay Mallya and Nirav Modi exist? Stop the insanity with your agendas.

Another open letter! What's next, open videos?

Get over it. This is industry is run by illegal means and the more they do these gimmicky things the more I'm convinced that they have something to hide.

You think Viacom, Sony, Netflix, Disney etc are running things by illegal means in India? This isn't the 1990s or early 2000s when there actually was a mafia strong arming producers in India to take their profits because the real estate industry they had their hands in collapsed.

Whitewashing of criminals.. Dawood ki family se lekar Abdul latif tak... Abdul latif was shown as a messiah.. None of the terrorist activities he supported was shown in the movie. Kya dikhana chahte hai yeh log. People watch the movies and blindly follow the narrative they set

You’re comparing apples and pears. What proportion of Bollywood movies can be attributed to Netflix and Disney? What do you think changed so miraculously in 20 years that the mafia/gangsters disappeared completely? There are very few things done legally in India. That’s a fact. Even the most innocent are not spared. From shop owners to Navy officers. There’s always someone in the chain that needs bribing/some incentive to get your work done.

Always a good gesture to stand with the industry you are a part of, an industry that gives you livelihood and everything else.. So a welcome step indeed.. Of course wouldn't make much of a difference but then nothing ever does.. one can only do their bit

So you're saying Bollywood is like any other industry in India. So why the hub bub? 😆

The financing in films just isn't what it was 20 years ago. So much of it is corporate, if not solely financed by corps then additionally through foreign and streaming deals etc. The criminal element of course exists - as you say it does in every enterprise - but it does not run the industry. The mafia is no longer shooting producers who don't hand over their profits.
