This is such a mess. Sushant's own family turned his mental health into a joke. I thought South Asian we're progressing and had more of an understanding of mental health, depression, anxiety.

But the way his family is in denial of his condition (or pushing that narrative), the way people on social media and television saying bullshit like "he was strong, how can he be depressed, he was intelligent, how can he be depressed, he was SMILING, how can he be depressed"

We've literally gone back into the dark ages

If they had just accepted his illness and suicide, he wouldn't be getting dragged through the mud right now. Do they realize that what is coming out of all this is that Sushant regularly did drugs, had a circle of dealers and druggies around him and that he frequently changed girlfriends and had a rocky relationship with his family?

Would Sushant have wanted the world to know all this? Would he have liked his WhatsApp chats being analyzed by random uncles sitting at home watching Republic?

Is this the justice they are getting for him? Not only that, thousands who are suffering from similar mental issues will feel ashamed and hide it even more because of what this family has started.

And I would like to just say one thing giving psychotropic medications without proper monitoring or even a prescription is a huge flag in this case. If it actually happened, all parties involved including his sister and the doctor who prescribed it should

Be held accountable.

What ridiculous allegations are these? Based on the chats leaked, the sisters knew he was suffering from depression but to blame it on Rhea while SSR's manager said he thinks his family causes him distress.

So his sister who is a lawyer just randomly giving him prescribed medications? without knowing his mental health history? Isnt this more damaging than what they are alleging Rhea did?

The sister stopped giving him his usual prescription medicines for depression that he had been taking and gave him anxiety drugs prescribed by a cardiologist. And this we got from Mumbai police's first interrogation to the family members.

Who knows whether the change of medication might have worsen his condition. Then the woman left her brother to die.

Can't agree more..I am all for justice and I hope whatever led to the fateful day is known ,but media is too much now.So much of conflicting news has made this all so confusing...if some of it turns to be just mere speculation then media peeps will easily move on and act as if nothing happened. Its like as if everyone has forgotten this is a tragic incident and is busy making a mockery out of it.What a mess :[

So now Lawyer clarifying false accusations of Rhea n co is making Mess ? Earlier people were saying why family is not clearing all these accusations , they must be guilty.

When did Sushant become poster boy for Mental illness And How have been gone into Dark ages ? What makes u believe Rhea's statement about Sushant's Bipolar disorder ? She is Accused # 1 and most of her statements are already falsified , Read chats shared by ED . What do u think NCB came into this case ? Mess made by Family ? So CBI, ED, NCB are all wrong n Family is making joke of mental health.

And Same Mumbai Police the most honest police in the world equates to Scotland yard 😆 This case has clearly proved it. MP is same this is rebuked by Supreme court for doing Shi**y Job in case , open proved to support accuse, destroy evidence and liking tweets in favour of Accused, forcing victims family to sign statement in marathi 👏

No it doesn't equate to a diagnosis but for someone to VERBALIZE that they are feeling low, they definitely should be screened for depression. Also, in light of the fact they he WAS formally diagnosed with depression later on requiring medications, it's a very high chance he was reaching out for help back when he verbalized it. And that most likely, it may have been a depressive episode.

But then should we be screening every individual who ‘feels low’ after they’re disappointed with an exam result. Or ‘feels low’ because their picture on Instagram only got 99 likes and not 100? I wouldn’t blame anyone for being supposedly complacent after hearing someone pass a statement like that. If it was combined with other behaviour, warning signs, red flags then maybe. But life is full of highs and lows, where do we draw the line?
