but what about when audience watches the content but the reviewers/media don't talk about it? when they're not appreciated? when a nepo product's far inferior products are hailed as masterpieces to gaslight the public? when the insiders run a smear campaign to suppress talent to flourish?
then the same indie directors are hired and then the producers curb the creativity of the team and make them hire their nepo-kids and the cycle continues..
i don't know why people are being so obtuse.. the problem is far deeper than "their money their choice to hire whoever they want"/"if audience support talent, talent will flourish" etc etc etc
last month or so Bollywood's toxicity has been exposed time and time again and yet the same excused are used over and over again to white wash it...
no wonder majority of the products that a country of over a billion population and a huge movie industry comes up with are total trash
Well said and completely agree.
It's definitely much more than "Their money their choice"
If they control every aspect of the film making process and business then they can make or break anyone and it could be done easily with power. That's where the issue lies. How convenient is it to blame the audience.
SSR's movies did become HIts, the audience did watch his movies, yet he had to struggle to fit in to get projects, its only and only coz the power-hungry elitists chose to shun him and sideline him without giving him validation for his work and the paid media tarnished his image with blinds.
when you deliberately don't talk about a movie, make attempts to subdue a movie's success and instead create false hype a trash movie of the star kid then is it not sabotage???? and a big problem with the system.
The system needs to cleanse and change.
