Although infidelity is never justified. The film is flawed in that regard that it tries to justify it. But there are also double standards pointed it out. Many people patch agreeing never do it again. And when you study the circumstances behind why it was happening. The woman was never allowed to have a career. She did not have many friends. She would go crazy in a house all by herself when her husband left her for months or days. Her only confidant was this music teacher but even they did not have a full fledged affair. It was also explaining the fact that woman's physical needs are just as strong as a man's. BUT she broke all relations with the music teacher after what happened. So clearly the one she loved emotionally all her life despite all his flaws was her husband? So why couldn't he also forgive her? I am not completely justifying the storyline. It was slightly flawed. But still pretty powerful

I am not questioning her equation with her husband but her son

Yeah the son never took the time to understand what his mother would have gone through being in a house all by herself for months, not having a career, not having friends, not even having children to make her days go by faster. He labeled for a one night stand but not the man who he thought to be his father for proudly admitting to having many and saying it is ok because he was male. That was a double standard on his part.

Valid but I am trying to see it from his point of view

I mean, he just found it that his father wasn't his father.. He had been lied to his whole life.. His father who is not actually his father was lied to his whole life.. So isn't it like natural that he would jump at the person who hid the facts? rational thoughts are bound to come later

I didn’t remember the details until I read the other posts on this thread...Now I think it’s self explanatory why he was dumped....

Why? Because he did not take time to give his mother a character certificate?

That is true he was still processing but giving out character certificates to your mother when u find no fault when ur father does the same explains how u judge things no matter what situation u might be. If he would have been this disgusted with his father when he learnt about his affairs I would still understand his point but he clearly just has problem with his mother's affairs. Daddy can do whatever he wants . I think asking him to be broad-minded was wrong. It would have been better if she would have told him to fix his hypocrisy first.

Honestly, both should have been labeled.. But how would being broad minded change things? I mean what does broad minded even mean? That he would be okay with both his parents having relations with other people?

Every woman would be scared to live with that type of double standard. If thought his dad could get aways with his infidelity and not his mom where else might he agree? Would he think it was ok for him to be away for months? What would be the point of a marriage then? The dad was already challenging her to stop working independently and come work for his company. Clearly the household was backwards in many regards not just one. And if he did not feel shame pointing fingers like that on his mom and not have an iota of empathy. What if she ended up doing something that he needed time to process (not infidelity but other things that offend the mail ego) would he not be scared to label her or call her this or that.

You're right. It would be a massive shock for anyone. But I think since the film is from Tabu's POV, it's supposed to be a redemption for her in the story? After people treating like some kind of fallen woman, unworthy of respect by her whole family, atleast there's someone who understands her? great (though unrealistic maybe?) ending of female solidarity. It's a WOW performance from Tabu!

Maybe telling your father off too I guess. 😆 Not have double standards. People have discussed this film before although the one night stand in the moment of weakness is still not justified. I love Tabu's performance.
