Mahabharata has many stories and unfortunate reactions for uncommon/rare events.

In Dyut Sabha Draupadi was humiliated because she was refusing to surrender. She was assaulted because she was made a slave by her own husband and she refused to accept it. She was threatened with nakedness to shut her up. If Devika had stood up against the men like Draupadi, she would have faced the same assault. Nothing in DS would have changed if she was just Yudhi's wife.

Nobody reacted because in DS, because nobody wanted to react for their own selfish reasons. Not because they felt Draupadi deserved to be humiliated for polyandry.

All the men present there were selfish jackasses, concerned about themselves, their throne or their political safety to bother about her.

If Kouravas propagated the story after DS then why is Vyasa cooking up stories for Drupad.

Why what happened ?

On the topic I think there are multiple mentions of Polyandry. Nearly every important character Mentions this at least once.

Her Polyandrous status is mentioned even while praising her

Polyandry was uncommon so Draupadi was a unique case but definitely not unacceptable (excluding for people like Karna)
