Why was Mahabharata called "Jaya Kavya"?

How do we know that it was titled " Jaya Kavya"? Is it mentioned in Mahabharata?

Jaya is mentioned in the initial summary Vaishampayana gives.

Kavya format is self evident in Sanskrit text.
