The good performances of actors that are "not much talked" / underrated.

Vidya in Dirty picture..i think its one of the best wholesome performance by a female actress..And the dialogue writer of that movie also deserves a lot of accolade..it was so good to watch a female character throwing all those massy punch dialogues all so convincingly.

Usually only crying/shocked/numb/depressed performances are considered as awardworthy which i completely disagree with..for example Irfan khan is considered a great actor but he most of the times had only one expression.

Randeep Hooda in Highway comes to my mind at once.

How is it underrated?She got National for that performance..the highest recognition for any actor.

But whenever Vidya is discussed, Kahaani overshadows everything else..And also when lists like the best performance by female actresses are made Dirty picture isnt usually mentioned.. so

Vidya got all the awards that year for The dirty picture including National Award and she herself mentioned that the dirty picture and that role is her career defining role and she actually came into the league of top actresses because of this movie only. Kahani came later year and again she bagged many awards for that, so, I don't think, in any way that performance of her in dirty picture was underrated.

Coming to the topic : There are so many, I think, I have watched more of underrated movies than popular ones, I have a long list : I am mentioning few which I remember :

1) Ido agree, Randeep Hooda was phenomenal in both Highway and Sarabjeet but sadly I'm both the movies, his performance was neglected and the lead actresses were given more credit as they were popular faces. He is one such underrated actor who still didn't get his due.

2)Banita Sandhu in October. She rarely had dialogues in the movie but she was really good.

3) Sonakshi Sinha in Lootera. ( I still feel if she would have continued with this kind of role, she would have done better in her career)

4) Irrfan Khan in Karwan, Qarib Qarib Single and even The lunchbox (the movie was appreciated but he didn't get a single award for this plus I think, he didn't even got the nomination)

5) Manoj Bajpayee for Aligarh (He got filmfare award for that but still that performance deserved more appreciation)

6) Ronit Roy in Ugly

7) Konkana (I think in many movies but 15 Park Avenue I am mentioning, Shabana Azmi too for the same movie)

8) Aishwarya and Ajay both for Raincoat ( I loved this movie and spot on performances)

9) There is a movie called Liar's Dice (both the leads Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Geetanjali Thapa are underrated for this performance)

10) Kay Kay Menon ,Rahul Bose for Shaurya

11) Deepak Dobriyal for Hindi Medium

And there are still many. 😃

I didnt know about all those details..i started following bollywood since the last few years only..i just knew vidya got national award for the movie..but now years down the line when greatest female performance/characters are discussed i see more of Queen, Kahaani, PCs some performances etc..thats why i felt her performance in dirty picture is underrated.
