Ofcourse! The pandava army was assisting Arjuna because that battle was focused upon the elimination/protection of one man. All Pandavas with Shikhandi had attacked him. But the main battle was still between Bhishma-Arjuna.

I don't believe in curses or reincarnation to begin with.😆 Plus, Bheeshma WAS shooting at Shikhandi. Also, as FP mentioned, 2 different names are mentioned as the slayer of Bheeshma. One such mention of Shikhandi was in Arjuna's presence, no less, and by his fan/good friend, Satyaki. The second was by Krishna who was definitely there as opposed to the narrator who wasn't.
Then, there is Arrjuna's continued reluctance even after to kill anyone from the other side. Remember, Drona masterminded ABhimanyu vadh. Even then, Arjuna could not bring himself kill his guru.
Situation is plenty murky on who exactly killed Bheeshma.
