Did Priyanka make a mistake by leaving BW? - Page 2

No, she was smart. Her time in BW was winding up anyways so HW was def the best option. I do hate her personality more of late, but I still think she made a smart choice and continues going after those roles that cement her firmly in the west. If anything, I don't see her ever comnig back to BW unless it's something great like the Sky is Pink.

She's already signed a web series with the Russo Brothers (which could even help her get something big like the MCU). Also she is a part of The Matrix. PC knows how to socialise and make her way through. I am sure post lockdown there'll be some more announcements.

She's hustled for years, had BWood industry insiders give her the cold shoulder so she definitely deserves the break she is taking now. And ofc after years of working hard, she deserves settling down. I dislike when people talk like she slowed down on purpose.

Yeah this I agree with. They def singled her out. I remember reading the articles about Gauri wanting her out of their social circles so KJo made it a priority to blacklist her for ages. Then she made it big and it was like all forgotten. PC is smart, she never said anything--just showed them with her actions.

Huge shift in attitude when someone becomes successful in BW. I noticed this too and particularly the KJO-PC equation majorily as well.

I always felt she was very smart and left at the perfect time. We tend to forget that these actors and actresses get fed up with their work environment as well and for their mental wellness need a break. Bollywood had become quite a toxic place for Priyanka filled with quite a few ex partners and their well wishers. So I feel she must've wanted to distance herself from that world.

On top of that there weren't that many meaningful projects for an actress of her caliber that wasn't already associated with another actress or too low budget for her. Maybe if she had stayed, Deepika wouldn't have done a hundred box office hits on 2014 and established herself as the new #1. I think Priyanka knew it was the right time to move. She took up a new challenge which is very exciting on its own. She still kept in touch with Bollywood. I feel like she is as relevant to Bollywood today as Kareena who never took any break. If I have to think back to their roles since Priyanka started Hollywood I feel like I remember more memorable Priyanka roles than Kareena roles. Not hating on kareena, I can say the same for other actresses like Katrina or Anushka. How many roles have they done since Priyanka's move to Hollywood that made me think "yaar Priyanka you really missed out on this!" None that I can remember. I don't think any of the good Alia roles would've gone to Priyanka. Maybe she could've done some of the Kangana roles. By a Hollywood move Priyanka became a more known figure around the world. She found her name on some really important lists. She found a life partner which is actually worth the loss of any bollywood role. More importantly she is learning and growing. That's really nice to watch.

Also can we talk about how Bollywood actresses come with a shelf life and expiration date. Hollywood doesn't have that. So Priyanka still has all the time in the world to make herself into something in Hollywood. Bollywood was always going to be a downhill journey as she aged.

Totally dude. If Gauri was behaving like this coz of the alleged affair, weren't two people involved? But no one blamed the bigger star at the time.

Bollywood is a fickle place man, I do not expect anything better. PC is the kween and it makes me very happy to see the success she gets.

I agree with some of your points and I really do want to see her grow in HW. However, so far it's not happening. She has been reduced to cameo roles and that's sad for an artist of her talent. In BW, she gave so many memorable roles. It's difficult to associate that Priyanka with anything but the best.

I do think she is hustling, though, and probably it's gonna take time for her to do anything significant in HW. More power to her❤️

Same. Previously many bollywood actors and actresses have attempted to come to hollywood. I don't care what they say about how they don't care about hollywood. I don't believe them. The way they fawn over anyone from hollywood who shows up to India for 2 days tells me if given the chance many of them would want to make something of themselves here. They just didn't want to start from scratch and struggle. Priyanka seems fine with struggling. Which makes me want to root for her despite not being her fan. I hope she lands some good projects or creates something great. If anyone can do it, it's her.

not only that, Priyanka was a huge competitor to kareena especially after the success of dostana and fashion. She became a threat and he was always very partial to kareena. Today if you watch that kwk episode with pc and kareena, you can sense his disappointment and bitterness toward PC going global. Just my interpretation

her shelf life in hollywood goes way beyond 40-50 years...... they write roles for that age female leads........if she is able to stick around for that long, then she has more chances of getting work there then bollywood....... here probably in another 10 years she will be left to play mother to Tiger and Ishaan or worse RK / RS...

She seems happy and it's all that matters. Career is not the only important thing in life, it's her choice to hustle or take a back seat in BW. She has worked through the years and earned success if she wants more time with her husband and aiming at HW she's free to do that.
