It is rumoured that Sanjay and Feroz Khan had ties with Dawood Ibrahim. Hrithik feared for his father's life, especially post his near-death incident. He had no option but to break up with Kareena.

I really felt awful after reading this.

It would have shaped differently for Kareena if HR did that. She would be bashed for being a home wrecker for life.

I don't know how much is true, but I did feel there was something more to Hrithik-Kareena than meets the eye. They would have probably ended up together if it wasn't for the other dynamics involved.
