Chapter 20 – Justice Served
Prerna kept looking at the man sleeping beside her. That small boy had been through the worst of nightmares and come out to be this man – Rishab. She kept her hand at her head and started caressing it and kissed on his forehead. After sometime she saw Kukki at the door of the study and asked her to come in. She saw surprised to see her father like that.
“Papa ne bura sapna dekha.Aap yahan kyun aayi mumma ke saath sona hain. Ab mumma uthegi to papa bhi uth jaengi.”
Kukki went from there got a blanket and covered Rishab and then snuggled beside Prerna in the same blanket on the floor. Prerna was holding Rishab hands and then Kukki put a hand on it and they slept. Next morning Rishab woke up to find himself in the warmth of the blanket covering Prerna and Kukki. It was very late but he didn’t want to get up and for this dream to break. After sometime he woke up made sure Prerna and Kukki were asleep and went out to freshen up. He asked the servants to bring the breakfast in the study. He started tickling Kukki and the commotion woke up Prerna and they all started laughing.
Mr bajaj left for the office in sometime when prerna knew what she had to do. She knew Mr bajaj will no do anything against the Basus and no matter how much he says this will hit Bajaj industries hard. She took Kukki with her hiding from press and left her at Sharma Niwas. She went to Basu badi found Mohini basu there and confronted her.
“To tum wapis aa gayi. Apne pati ki sachai pata chal gayi tumhe. Waise maine tumhare bare main sahi socha tha pehle Anu se pyaar ka natak, phi bajaj se shaadi aur ab jab Bajaj ka business thap to Anu ke paas wapis. Wow par aisa kabhi nahin hoga kabhi nahin”
“Aapko sachme lagta hain ki isse unhe koi noksaan hoga. Apne pati ki nahin aapki sachai pata chal gayi mujhe. Ek baat bataye Kaka babu jaante hi ki aapne Mr Bajaj ki maa ke saath kya kiya”
“Nahin aur who kabhi nahin janege.”
“kaise aurat hain aap Kakkimaa us chote se bache aur maa ki help karne ki wajaye aapne unke saath yeh sab kiya. Aisa kaise kar sakti hain aap, kaise”
“Tumhare pati ne jo kiya who theek tha”

You know Mr bajaj ne jab mujhe yeh sab bataya mere man main 1% hope thi ki shayad who galat hoon shayad unhe koi misunderstanding hui ho maybe we don’t know something but nahin. Apne tolna bhul se bhi mere pati ke saath mat kijiyega.Galti se bhi nahin. Mr Bajaj to nafrat karte the aap sab se, main unke liye sirf ek deal thi unki maa ke saath jo kuch bhi hua uske baad unka yeh sab karna kahi sahi tha lekin who sab kuch bhul gaye apni beti ke liye. Par aap aap janti thi unki maa ko kaka babu izzat karte the unki, yeh ghar yeh empire iski neev kahi na kani unki rakhi hui hain.. Kaka Babu ko main bataongi sab kuch. Lekin use pehle aap apni galti sudharengi. Aap khud basu publication main yeh news chapwayegi ki Mr Bajaj ki mom corrupt nahin thi that it was all a mistake and it was all self-defence but the court couldn’t do justice to her.”
Mohini Basu started laughing–“Are you mad? Kabhi nahin Kabhi nahin”
“yes you will warna na aapki yeh basu badi rahegi aur na yeh basu publication. Main kaka Babu ki bahut izzat karti hoon unhe hurt nahin karna chahti mere baba ka pasina hain is company main isliye yeh mauka de rahin hoon appko warna Jis kasam se Mr Bajaj ko maine aaj tak rok ke rakha tha ki woh aap logo ko kuch na kare who main wapis le lungi. Aur mujhe yeh yaad dilane ki zaroorat nahin hain ki last time kya hua tha aur saath hi saath main kaka babu ko aapki sari sachai bata dungi. Aap yeh sab kaise karengi Anurag ko kaise manaengi I don’t care I want it done. You have 2 days”
Mohini was scared now she couldn’t let Moloy know the truth. She has to stop Prerna and throw her from Anurag’s life.
At Bajaj industries things were not looking better and Mr Bajaj had to make a decision whether he should stay in India or return to London with Kukki. Mr Mehra came just then.
“Sir papers, ek baar aur soch llijiye sir”
“Main apna decision le chuka ho mehra. Prerna ko in sab main involve karke maine bahut badi galti ki. I should have never done that”
“Sir Mrs bajaj koi cheez nahin hain ki kukki ne bola chahiye to aap unhe le aaye aur phir Kukki ne bola chod do to chod diya. Who ek jiti jakti insaan hain. Atleast give her the option of what she wants. Ask her she deserves that respect. Aap dar rahin hain Mr Bajaj jo kabhi koi risk lene se nahin darte who ek risk lene se dar rahin hain. Jyada se jyada kya hoga who chali jaengi who to who abhi bhi ja rahin hain na. Please think about it.”
Prerna picked up Kukki from Sharma Niwas and came home. He found Mr Bajaj at home with a drink. She asked Kukki to go to her room and stood with hands folded in front of Mr bajaj.
“Just one. I promise”
“No not even one and took the glass and emptied it in the sink. Uthiye “
Just then Kukki came running– “papa hum kab jayenge Diwali ke gifts lene. Mumma ke ghar pe to nanni sabke liye le aaye hain. Hum to kuch bhi nahin laye”
Mr bajaj didn’t know what to stay. Prerna replied – “Hum log kal jayenge aur kal papa bhi jayenge hamare saath”
“In sab ki kya zaroorat hain, aap to waise bhi ja rahin hain”
“Main kaha ja rahin hoon”
“I mean Mujhe laga aap apnimaa ke sath wahan time spend karna chahti hain”
“Kyun meri kukki aur aapk…kukki ke saath pehli Diwali hain is ghar main. Haan main maa ke paas jaongi jaroor, baba ke jane ke baad unki pehli Diwali hain who duki hain par Diwali wale din main yahan par hi hoon, yeh mera ghar hain”
Mr Bajaj didn’t give her the papers that day. They all went shopping next day trying to avoid press as much as possible. They bought a dress for Kukki, Mr Bajaj noticed that Prerna kept looking at a dress in another shop. They all came home. Prerna was checking the stuff in the bags and making sure she had everything when she saw a package with the same dress. Prerna was surprised to find even a pair of matching earing with it.
Next morning Prerna woke up early to another news on channels. It was shown that Mr Bajaj mother was not guilty of corruption charges and it was all a sham done by Mrs Mohini basu’s father to take revenge. Mr Bajaj was stunned at this whole turn of events and for the first time he didn’t know how the hell it happened.
