Your take on Vaani Kapoor?

Just re-watched Shuddh Desi Romance, and what pleasantly surprised me is Vaani's acting. The girl can act pretty well! In fact, it's one of the stronger debutante performances. She held her own against Parineeti and Sushant Singh Rajput and had a charming, girl-next-door feel to her. She aced the looks department as well.

However, I do feel things went horribly wrong after Befikre, which was a box-office debacle and where she messed up her face. This was when her career nosedived. Also, in War she was hardly visible. It was a 2-min role and she didn't have the chance to be impactful.

Will she remain a YRF one-film wonder or does she have the chance to reinvent herself?

She has potential but wasted so much time in her 20s with barely 3 films in 7 years .Now with age catching up ,I think she is fading out sooner .

I do feel age is not such a big factor any more. Actresses in their 30's make up top 5 except Alia. Kareena is still going strong at almost 40. Katrina and Deepika and Shraddha are also in their 30's. I think people have accepted actresses in 30's.

Yes, but all those actresses laid the foundation for their popularity in their 20s. Vaani was wasted in the backbench. Now Aditya is shoehorning her in every likely YRF production -WAR, Shamshera etc etc. Alia 2.0.

She still has the potential. I hope she bounces back.

these young women should stop listening to an old man who sits in his office and is scared to come out in front of people! 😆 Mr India has been advising these girls to change this or that but not to learn acting!

Poor Vaani looked horrible in Befikre and her character was such a try-hard. She is good and was pretty in Shudh Desi

I loved her in shuddh desi romance. Kind of sad she didn't go far.

As for bollywood and this stupid age thing, I hope we continue to get more filmmakers, especially women filmmakers who write stories for women. They don't even have to be good stories. I feel a little sick thinking these actresses have "aged out" and our only options are these young girls who look like they just got out high school. For an industry as big as ours, our mentality toward women suck. I get that a huge portion of the audience will never change and worship at the alter of men. But there are enough people in the audience now who know female led movies can be great too. So I hope more stories get written for women who didn't just turn 18.

why do people bring up age. it is very bothersome and not neccessary. no one pays attention to it unless you keep on bringing it up as if an actress in her 30's is a problem. its not. 20's dont have to be a women's prime but this sick cuture we have wont let this go.

She's a good actress. She hasnt captured my attention as having something speical. I personlly think she can do better. even if she has to struggle. my problem with her is that she seems like someone who hasnt tried but is just relying too much on YRF to give her work

not at all. They were all "popular" in their 20's. But the best work for most of them have all been in their late 20's to early 30's. Plus this isnt the 2000's anymore. The audience will only care about you if your work is good. Any actress who starts in their 30's can gain popularity too.

A prime example is Priyanka. She went to the west and has gotten popularity from a whole new crowd, and she's over 30.

Shraddha kapoor is in her 30's, I have seen very less people dislike or troll her as if her career is ending just because she is 30 plus.
