Alia Bhatt's Alpha has kicked off its theatrical run with numbers that have immediately become a talking point. While the film has received mixed reactions from critics and audiences, it managed to attract enough curiosity on its opening day to post a solid start at the ticket windows. The opening day collection has already placed Alpha ahead of some of Alia Bhatt's previous releases. It comfortably crossed the first day numbers of Raazi, which had opened at Rs 7.53 crore nett, and Jigra, which had collected Rs 4.55 crore nett on its first day.

The film has also registered the third biggest opening for a woman-led Hindi film in India. Only Veere Di Wedding and Gangubai Kathiawadi have managed higher Day 1 collections, while Alpha matched the opening day earnings of Crew with Rs 9.25 crore. The achievement further strengthens Alia's position among the most dependable female stars at the box office.

Weekend Will Decide The Bigger Story

The film sold around 2.24 lakh tickets on its opening day and witnessed encouraging late night occupancy across several major centres. Those trends suggest that audience interest remained steady through the evening, something that could help drive stronger collections over the weekend.

Of course, expectations are naturally higher for a large scale action film carrying the YRF Spy Universe brand. Viewed through that lens, some may consider the opening modest. However, judged against the wider landscape of woman-led Hindi films, Alpha has delivered a notable start. The real picture will emerge over Saturday and Sunday, as weekend growth will determine whether the film can convert its opening curiosity into sustained box office momentum.
