China to reopen over 200 movie theaters in Shanghai

Chinese authorities announced that more than 200 cinemas in Shanghai will resume operation on Saturday after nearly two months of an enforced shutdown to stop the spread of coronavirus.

China is expected to have 700 to 800 movie theatres up and running. The theatres will be rebooting under robust health guidelines including leaving an empty seat between patrons in every direction. "To lower the risk of infection, cinemas should strictly implement epidemic prevention measures, and audiences are required to have their body temperature tested and present their health codes at the entrance and wear masks during the showtime," Yin Xin, spokeswoman for the Shanghai municipal government, told the state-backed news service Xinhua. -- ANI

They shut them down again over concerns. Anyhow they were only trying to ease society back to normal. No new releases, just re-releases of Avengers, Harry Potter and stuff.

Regardless of CCP's earlier crimes, right now it's important they are able to create a blue print for the rest of the world for a return to normalcy.

I find it really shady that a big city like Beijing is not affected much, the economy didnt crash, suddenly there are no more cases and they are re-opening everything slowly.

The whole world is reeling under this deadly virus originating in Wuhan while they are getting back to normal and getting huge orders from the the rest of the world for medical equipment and essentials.

Countries which are under communism have that effect. People have no choice but to listen or they get killed. Theres many documentaries on how China contained it. Some will argue human rights and the brutality of the extreme measures but that works. Secondly, i dont think China was honest with their numbers they are definitely hiding the exact cases but the whole country lockdown was the best thing they did.

this is such a deliberate move by China

Their economy is booming and due to this, they are at no 1 now,

But still don’t you think suddenly the recovery was soo soo fast its like a blink of eye! Their was chaos since 3 months and within few days all normal!

If the virus originated in China, it was their responsibility to contain it. Not spread it around the world like this and take no responsibility for their actions whatsoever. 😑
