I guess you have only watched the South movies that set max keeps on showing otherwise believe me you would have never made this topic.... !

Try watching movies like Awe, bangalore days, virus, athiran, u turn, memories, ratsanan, super deluxe ,maayavan, nenokkadine, premam ,aruvi to name a few... .

These movies are exceptionally well made.. I can never imagine Bollywood coming up with such strong content..

Edit..

Just read the whole thread... Clearly it's a troll post..

At least Maharashtra is geographically south. OP included PUNJABI in south movies 🤣. He/she/bot is trolling of course. There's a good way to troll, and there's a sociopathic way to troll. This thread belongs in the latter category.

Bollywood films are popular only because they are located in Mumbai. If they had been somewhere in Hindi speaking region like Lucknow they would have been as popular as the South Indian films.

There is nothing special about Bollywood films and nothing irritating about South Indian films.

With 450 screens Sairat earned 110 crores.

Most Marathi films do better business and are profitable as they do not invest much in PR.

Marathi TV already beat Hindi TV black and blue in Maharashtra way back in 2000.

If pro-Marathi laws are enforced in Maharashtra like they are in South regarding release of Marathi films then Bollywood films will have higher percentage of flop films .

Uhh what, there are plenty of beautiful South Indian actresses. They don't need to be North Indian to be pretty

As far as I know, south Indian film industry has this obsession to cast fair north Indian heroines opposite very below average men.

Beautiful south Indian actors as you say are very miniscule among the haystack.

Also, a lot of actresses in south movies ARE north Indian.

South Indians dig north Indian features as far as I've seen in their movies. Specially masala movies.

There's always this weird looking guy and then over the top milky white beautiful actress from the north.

I'm not saying that south Indians can't be conventionally beautiful, it's what I've noticed.

oh I’m so sorry bro, the regional films or “south films” aren’t matching up to your high standards dayum....what’s south industry gonna do now without this esteemed audience? 😔

Oh I know, score 100+ crore grossers like Bigil, Mersal, pulimurugan, Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo, sarileru neekevvaru , Lucifer, kgf..workout even a national audience

This argument doesn’t even need Baahubali 😎...the above are enough
they ain’t losing shit just coz someone thinks they don’t matter...it’s clear who dosent matter in the large scheme of things 😝

I think you're taking it the wrong way.

As far as I've seen, they're talking about the reach of the movie and it's revenue nationally and internationally.

Yes bahubali was an exception but the OP is somewhat right.

A lot of people in our own country hasn't heard of these movies let alone audience outside India.

When people say Indian cinema, they usually mean Bollywood albeit I know it's ignorant.

I think regional cinema can soar once it makes movie keeping in the national audience. You know throw some references which are common throughout the country, also atleast release the movie in subtitles.

Art movies in regional cinema is THE best. But masala movies in regional cinema is THE worst.

I think regional cinema will gain more clout once online steaming services pick it up. Once you make the national audience feel welcome (like on bahubali), regional cinema will definitely soar.

I think this Bollywood does better that they integrate the whole countries different people. Like all of us can relate to them. No story is limited to a single religion or state hence a lot of diversity.

Hence, audience all over India watches it and it has sky high profits even when it's a shit movie.
