No offense to film stars but I feel tv stars are more popular compared to the former. The reason is simple, if you like a show and it appeals to the masses then you as an actor are at an advantage when it comes to gaining the fame desired, moreover even if the show fails to get the ratings you will still continue to get shows provided you are able to convince the casting agents or the producers. Here you don’t have the pressure to perform at the office as collections are subject to a lot of factors as compared to tv ratings. Box office run is short lived and hence if you fail there then it leaves a very bad impression on the producers who love to blame the stars mostly, but ratings on the other hand can be improved overtime by tweaking the storyline here and there as required.
In Bollywood you need really good contacts and luck as well to survive as compared to tv.
Yup! Tv is a lot easier.
