It's slow but it makes sense and this flow is nice. Prachi isn't a girl who'd fall in love easily, she is tough and has seen her mother go through shit and didn't have any man support all along. So for her to even consider Ranbir as not a bad person and a friend,it took so long. And if she can do so much for a friend then I can only wonder what she'd do after falling in love. So it makes sense that she doesn't realize any of it also because Ranbir had repeatedly told her that she isn't his type and falling in love is never her plan. I am glad they are making her stay true to her character.
Wish writers would actually show such an explanation being given in the show, such as a heartfelt scene between pranbir where ranbir out of curiosity asks prachi why she's so aloof from boys. Prachi explaining how she avoids distractions in her life like boys, love and romance given how her father seemingly abandoned her mother and that she had to watch her mother struggle to raise her by herself, how people judged her and her mother more because they had no support of a man and how that taught her a tough life lesson... that it is needed for a woman to be strong and independent to survive and be capable of looking after herself without a man's support. That's why she makes herself more detached from boys.... because her ultimate goal is to become self-dependent and keep her mother's head held high, and other girls don't have these goals and life experiences like she does so they don't need to worry that boys or love could be a distraction for them like she has to.
