TV just got really big!

Reportedly Salman Khan is set to host a TV reality show, and is being paid Rs 89 crore for it! mumbaimirror.com

After Amitabh Bachchan and Shah Rukh Khan, now we've heard that yet another Bollywood superstar, Salman Khan, will host a reality show on Sony Entertainment Television.

Salman is being paid a whooping amount to host the show. Our well-placed source in the TV industry informs, "Salman will receive Rs 89 crores for 104 episodes."

Our source continues, "The format of Salman show is almost ready, but the channel is keeping it under wraps right now."

No prizes for guessing that this is Sony's answer to Star Plus' show Kya Aap Paanchvi Paas Se Tez Hain? to be hosted by Shah Rukh Khan. The Sony show is expected to kick off in June, which is on an around the same time as King Khan will come on Star Plus. Kya Aap Paanchvi Pass Se Tez Hain? was scheduled to be aired April 18 onwards (mock rehearsals have begun at Shah Rukh's residence), but is now likely to be delayed, with the launch of the 44-day cricket bonanza Indian Premier League (IPL) tournament, where SRK's Kolkata team is also playing, coinciding with it. Reportedly, SRK is trying his best to push the telecast to a later date.

Siddharth Basu of Synergy Communications, which is producing Kya Aap Paanchvi Pass Se Tez Hain?, has still not given out the date of telecast. When asked about it, he had recently said, "The time and date of telecast of the show will be announced shortly."

Our source adds, "Although many people consider him rude and eccentric, Salman has often revealed the compassionate side of his personality without making a song and dance about it. Apart from the content which promises to be mind-blowing, this kind-hearted quality of Salman is what is expected to see the show through."

When contacted, Salman's father, Salim Khan, said, "I don't get into Salman's work." Meanwhile, Albert Almeida (Executive VP and Business Head, SET India) simply quipped, "No comments".
