Paras Communicating With Akanksha

How was Paras allowed to communicate (send a letter) with Akanksha? He even acknowledged he sent the letter, but it was all dealt with like it was no big deal, but it is a big deal. Isn't it against the basic rules of the game?

Doesn't that provide an unfair advantage? Shouldn't this be ground for elimination?
