It was quite an interesting episode tonight. A mix of many facets and emotions, which were significant on how the plot will move here onwards. I loved that Maya was so much more natural and emotional today. I have a lot to say and hope to make some sense of what I felt about the episode.
Rishi's independence - It was very heartening to see that Rishi is growing up to be a man, independent in his own right, for a woman whom he loves. And surprisingly Maya was much more natural in her conversation with Rishi. Even though there was the mask of the loving girlfriend, but still it was more natural and looked less made up. The care, the concern, the love, the reminder to wear a tie, came off more naturally. Even when after the call, Rajiv was making fun of Rishi on account of escaping if a girl set the bed on fire, then too Maya very sweetly said she understands where Rishi is coming from - he is naive, he is a good person and he is in love, he trusts her and that is the biggest mistake he is going to make. What I felt here is Maya was saying this based on experience - because she had been through all this, and she was manipulated by the person she loved - which led her being the Maya Jaisingh she is today. Her pain is so much that inflicting similar pain on someone who is as naive as she used to be, is not affecting her the way it should. Her hatred, her revenge, her pain is blinding her to the fact, that what she is doing to Rishi will create another Maya Jaisingh in the long run. Even if later she heals, she changes, she turns towards light because of Rudra, then will she be able to reverse the impact of her game on Rishi. Or will Rishi turn out to be a better person going through this storm and become another support system to Maya, like a good friend?
The 'real' Maya - Today the scene with Nandini touched my heart. Nandini was searching for that Maya she lost in her picture, the hasti masti Maya - but her grief and pain is so tremendous that she does not believe that she can go back to being the Maya she was. Maya remembers all the days of bliss and happiness she spent with her father, her brother - but those memories also serve as a painful reminder that they are no more, they are no longer here with her. Going by the flooding back of memories, it seems Maya has fought a lot with herself and the world to bring herself to this point. She cannot rest without punishing the Roy family. She lost a lot because of Mrityunjay's sanak and his family's maun. Just like Draupadi had announced after her disrobing, that "Duryodhan will be punished for her dishonor, but each and every person who was quite when she was shamed and her husbands were humiliated will also be punished for their silence." And Draupadi and Pandavas waited 13 years for that. Maya also has come too far to back out of this battle, now she will have to punish all of them - be it innocent or not. But what is significant here is Nandini consoles her and tells her that there will definitely be someone who will be a ray of hope in this darkness and pull her towards love and light - and significantly the screen cuts to Rudra.
Rudra in love? Today Rudra was giving off all vibes of falling for Maya. He was recalling all the soft moments which he spent with Maya and is interrupted by Ananya - who is extremely sure of what is going on in Rudra's mind. What I appreciate about Ananya is she may feel something for Rudra, but she does not let that come in between her role as 'Rudra's friend'. She is beginning to understand that Rudra is developing feelings for Maya, but she also knows that he will not accept it before her. Rudra is truly having a hard time because he is feeling a strong pull towards Maya. He wants to know more about her but wants to stay away from her. He wants to unpeel all the layers to Maya because he cannot trust her, but he is stopping himself from doing that. I feel that this is more from a sense of apprehension because he was ditched previously by someone, so he does not want to let someone in. But he cannot stop himself from wanting her - which is evident in him being affected by the trust Maya has on Rajiv and does not show in him. And CVs rightly played it out when Ananya asks him about it, whether its dislike or jealousy? (Someone is stalking my posts). But Maya very validly questions him, does he trust her, does he trust her enough to lose himself in her? But he isn't ready. We have 2 Rudras here - one who is very cautious and does not want to put himself in a place where he will regret trusting someone, and one who wants to give in to Maya, who wants and desires Maya. Rudra's running away from Maya agitates her because it puts a glitch in her game, then when Rudra will give in, I think by that time Maya will be in a dilemma regarding him - to use and hurt him or to love and cherish him?
Mrityunjay's 'Loss of Control' - Mrityunjay is the real sanki in this show, you know, but since his sanak is repressed by his calm demeanor, people can mistake him to be a calm and simple, good man. He does not like the loss of control in any situation - he wants people to want him and he pushes people's buttons to make them want him. Be it Antara's desire for his love, Rishi's dependence on him. He wants to be in control of everything, utilizing fear or love. Rudra and his mother are exceptions, who see through him and do not give two hoots about him being Mrityunjay Roy. So he finds it difficult to handle such people. So he indirectly manipulates them using Antara or Rishi. Rishi giving it a thought that he wants to do something on his own - is appreciated by everyone except Mrityunjay. Mrityunjay is okay when thoughts in his son's head stem because of him and not because of someone else. So he installs Ankit as his CCTV, to know who this girlfriend is who is reducing his influence on his son. I am sorry to say Ankit, sherni ke puch pe pao rakhne jaa rahe ho.. ab wo to labadegi hi. Let us see how Maya handles Ankit.
Precap is the same as last week. Let us see, how Maya tackles Rishi's doubts? Probably she succeeds in doing so because otherwise the future ooh la la romantic MayRa moments would not be shown if Rudra had any inkling of the MaHi equation.
Anyway, done with my rambling. Let's hear out yours.
