I still think this was the right choice.

Did India ever win an Oscar for Best Foreign Film? Don;t think so,

And last nomination was like 19-20 years ago.. not like you keep getting nominations.

Roma from last year wasn't a great movie- is the same story as many other stories of servants, or immigrants- nothing original..nor that great of an acting whirlwind or anything..just the director won Oscars for HW productions and had enough power to win the campaign.

This year- some nominations are only foreign in name, as there are huge HW actors starring in them.

SO, keep trying India until the best formula (very good movie, probably - AND powerful director with contacts in HW-Shamalayan, Zoya, SLB,that type -) can make one movie stand out at Oscars.. Good luck !

BW needs to realise that Oscars go to really good storyline, it may be fantasy, realistic, fiction or absurd but well crafted story. It has to be interesting and gripping.
