btw I got to know Chinese have a dish called congee (pronounced like Kanji)....it's Chinese rice porridge that they consume mostly when they are sick...apparently congee comes from the Tamil word kanji....also many other Asian countries have similar rice porridge as Kanji.

Thanks for sharing Sathya...before watching K-drama I watched a show on Netflix called Kim's Convenience..it's a Canadian sitcom about a Korean Canadian family ...The first time I heard "appa" and "umma" in the show...I was like so shocked that they have a similar way of addressing dad and mom as us.
