I understand that. But based on their perspective, they don't think like this.

I get it. Sometimes a witty line or a joke comes to you in the spur of the moment. It garners laughs and you roll with it. You mean no harm. It's all intended in good fun. Sometimes these jokes are indeed harmless. But every now and then a joke can cross a line. This is one of those situations.

Such dialogues trivialize the victim's experience in cases of marital rape, date rape, or partner sexual assault. Such humor also encourages the mindset that spouses and significant others are obligated to provide sex no matter what. It completely negates the notion of consent in relationships. It is this very attitude that keeps marital rape legal.

I am shocked that from the inception of the joke till the release of the trailer - not a single person thought to raise objections. Actors typically do what they are told, but they do have a say and are responsible to raise concerns. I'm also super disappointed with Bhumi if she knew about this joke and was silent until the backlash.

Anyway, its a massive disappointment that Karthik hasn't apologized.

Either

1) He thinks the joke is fine and people need to chill

2) He is waiting for his PR to handle the situation and tell him what to do

Simple they want controversy. They will get one. free ka promotion milega in logo ko. Inko ghanta farak nahi padta ki dialogue thik h ya galat.
