Ranveer tried hard to copy Sanju from khalnayak but failed miserably.

without a doubt....SD would have made a scary legit Khilji...not this hyper, dirty and joker Khilji that Ranveer played....but like I have always said....any thing wrong that happens in SLB's movie is not the actors fault....its SLB because he can't direct...he made a joker out of Veeru in Padmavat...turned Padmavati into a crying zombie...turned Ramleela in God knows what....and look what he did to Shahrukh in Devdas.....so the answer is SD being a very strong actor but not under SLB's direction...SLB would have probably spoiled that character too...but SD is not hyper like Veeru so it wouldn't have been that bad.

If they wanted an older Khilji,Irrfan Khan would have been better.

I agree with Rangoli here.They sexualised Khilji,which lessened the terror.SLB's Khilji was shown to be in love..instead he should have been driven by power,control and lust-A Raavan like character.
