Kasauti Feelings Ki

A good actor is one who can express his/her emotions through his/her eyes. One who acts but doesn't look like he's/she's acting. One who can make us believe in his/her character. One who doesn't try too hard to make audience emotional.

A bad actor is one who can't act. One who is unable to express his/her feelings through his/her eyes and body language. One who makes acting look like acting. One who overacts and makes us cringe out loud. One whose facial expressions don't match with the situation. They make everything look fake, cheesy and kinda funny. They try to hide their bad acting skills with heavy clichéd dialogues and action.

I used to feel bad, feel their pain and cry sometimes for characters of a show/movie when they get emotional or going thru bad phase of their lives. but here instead of feeling bad watching Pre's miserable life, cringeworthy/funny lag raha hai mujhe. I just couldn't connect to Pre's character of this show.

is it because of poor script/characterization of Prerna or poor acting of an actress who's playing Prerna?

Thank you for this post. You have dared to mention my feels exactly. Because trust me knowing fans here I wouldn't have dared to make the post. I can't connect with Prer a coz the acting doesn't help. Neither tears nor laughter. But it's not Prsrna's fault because the director and DOP present pass the scenes! How do they do without inputs makes me wonder.

I love Erica but she is not exactly suited for the fiery Prerna when I think of The original Prerna, that is Shweta Tiwari.

That being said, Erica can emote Beautifully. If you have seen Kuch Rang,you will agree.

The issue here is, that she isn't given any monologues. CVS are busy concentrating on Anurag and RB , but Prerna is used only as ping pong ball here.

The S1 prerna used to get lot of monologues, but this Pre doesn't get any except this mahaepisode where it was shown what exactly she felt.

If you have seen this show when Hina was there , during Anurag-komo marraige, Anu used to get lot of monologues, so we knew exactly what he is feeling, how unhappy he was with komo and was with her only to save Prerna.

But here in PreRish marraige track, Prerna doesn't get any monologues. Her scenes are either with Bajaj or Anurag because CVS want one AnuPre and one PreRish scene in every episode for the fandom.

I politely disagree.

Erica is doing a good job provided the crap script thrown her way. She is getting bashed continuously as well.

Coming to her acting, i don't think CVs want her to express anything in the current track. To confuse everyone. That's why her character doesn't get monoluges. If it did, there was no chance of establishing Prerna-Bajaj which they want to do. Atleast from one side for now.

Don't feel for the character at all. It's very sad. There is No PreRish or AnuPre. It's Rishabh or Anurag all the way - their characters are chalked out better and hers is a mere afterthought. Can't relate for one second with her character.. all her scenes are skipped unless our favourite male character is there. Even when she is with kukkie, people watch for the kid, not her.

The actor is talented or EK wouldnt bother. Must be the production teams that doesn't give cues properly.

Erica is good at playing subtle scenes....scenes like when she talks to bajaj that she is not wrong if she is uncomfartable.....she excels there.......you can feel what she is going through, even when she say less words.....she does emotes well.

She is not made for playing highly melodramatic scenes........she fails bad in such drama......i feel she cant relate with them....time has changed but ekta mam still uses such overmelodramatic stuff......the same issue is with parth too.....they fail to express the pain through their expressions in scenes which are over the top. It end up being laughworthy unfortunately.

Regarding prerna as character........ekta mam has robbed her off a lot of positive qualities the S1 prerna had.....the prerna in that era was playing an imp role in bajaj company and had helped anurag in his business too......she won businesswoman of the year somedays after marriage with bajaj. This time they have trapped prerna in kitchen politics. That time basus did got to know when bajaj backed off that what prerna did for them........this time they havent given a thought on that from where that video was found which saved anurag and how the person who was here to destroy them has backed off and sitting quietly.

Apart from that......the background lyrics which helped prerna in describing all she used not feel are also not there. Such good lyrics were there ......and they all belong to ekta mam....when situations here are same.....why are those not being used is something which keeps coming to mind. Those were an essential part of kzk which helped audience to connect with each character and understand what kasauti they are facing.

Yesterday when I saw Pre running i was like yaaaay... Here goes Prerna running to Anurag scenes. I got flashes of s1 prerna running to Basu House in pink anarkali dress hearing Anu's death news and then flash flash, another running in yellow saree to police station to save Anu and then one to stop Anu from beating their son (in black saree)...

And then I looked at the tv screen and hola, Pre was lying on road. I never expected to cry watching kzk2... At least not in this phase. Becaue upto this phase i never cried even watching s1. Crying season started later (and it still makes me cry, no matter howmany time i see those scenes).. But the thing is my heart should have wrenched. It shoukd have stopped for a moment at least. Idk, how many of you get that feelings but honestly i didn’t. That kitchen scene was much better than this running drama.Prerna's Running for Anurag is very close and special to my heart. Something i would like to watch again and again. But this run started and finished within a blink. I mean in running they show two three scenes but like fir 1-2 minutes at least.. With flashbacks, with crying..

So, i will blame the cv here. Erica tried hard to cry like she's actually crying... That was good. But i felt she SHOULD have acted instead of being real. Crying is the harderest part of acting.

The cv's even didnt tell her how to run? I mean, you hold your saree with one hand while running. Thats what i have seen before.

Erica had alreadu worked in a famous serial.. She's capable of handling tragedies in her character. The cvs sucks.

and i agree that prerna's monologues are less and very montonous. Her self talks should be more highlitened. And as i have said instead of expecting her something else we have to learn to accept her the way she is. Its a remake and knowingly and unknowingly we always end up expecting her like s1 prerna.

Being a die heart Prerna and Shweta Tiwari fan it was hard for me to accept an actress in her place but i did do it easily with Erica.. The audience also confuse the cvs... They dont want same s1 saga and then again end up wanting Prerna's character just like that one. Ah, s1 pre was so perfect not to be wanted i guess ;)

The song lyrics!! Ah, one for each type of emotions... ^_^ specially when it used to be played on prerna the things she never used to voice were voiced with lyrics.
