Ah! the age old question of free will and how much control we have over our actions😆

I watch the show for Bajaj ,with that said, Baj- Prerna marriage is yet another example of how poorly written this show is.

Somewhere in the writers mind it made sense that Prerna be chosen to negotiate with Bajaj and again the whole plot line of why Bajaj would want to marry someone like Prerna is nonsensical.

Much needed post👏 The way the whole blackmailing has been trivialised and made to look like a normal marriage is bothering me. Yesterday’s Baj-Pre scene was interesting till he said he will try to be a good friend and listen to her problems...wah! 👏👏If he had so much trouble seeing her in tears, the least he could do was apologise to her and ask her if she wanted freedom from this sham of a marriage! That one dialogue reminded me of the way he caged her and the reason I will never be able to connect with this couple no matter how nice the bgm and dialogues are!You cannot build your home on somebody else’s grave!

I don’t know why this forum considers only physically tying someone or beating them to pulp as force. 🤔 Or maybe I know why...

Every person has a choice in life, but we often feel that we are victims to circumstances. I concur with what you wrote. Rightfully so!

But, I believe our choices are not indicative of our circumstances but are merely a reflection of our personality. Prerna’s personality is like that and that’s how sadly Indian women are expected to behave. As superwomen who have the ONLY option to sacrifice themselves. Faulty writing, NO but this is called creating empathy. Mass media caters to women who are vastly TRP audience. Majorly, to a generation whose lives have either been confined to homes or are still attached to the names of traditions. Women are supposed to be docile and are largely expected to be sacrificial lambs.

So, when you create a character who sacrifices everything all the time for family, it somehow creates a psychological empathy in the minds of the audience who believe strongly that they too are victims to circumstances. This empathy evokes the curiosity to know more about them and watch the show the next day. They relate to it.

It’s always easy to blame circumstances, isn’t it? That’s what these show makers create. A make believe world and situation of comfort for the watchers.

It’s like telling them - ‘ SEE, the heroine too had no option but to sacrifice.’

Coming back to the topic. Did Prerna really have a choice? Of course yes, everyone has. In life, everyone has a choice until they are beaten up physically or forced. So, could Prerna saved this situation? Yes, had she not been Prerna. Remember, this Prerna is not a Prerna in your Head or as you would want her to react. She is the Prerna makers have created whose DNA is taking the most myopic way out-Put herself as shield to protect the family. When I say shield, that doesn’t mean, she fights but she simply takes the torment herself.

I would give you an example- Haven’t we heard our mothers, MIL’s say - Bhagwan Karen tumhari bimari mujhe lag haye. Bhagwan ko agar bulana hai toh mujhe bula le’.

That’s the most natural reaction a TRP audience has and imagine a character that is drawn similar to hers. They are thrilled.

Prerna is simply a reflection of such women and above all Prerna is written that way. We are all about the choices we make and the chances we take. Prerna took a chance and made her choice. Who are we to judge her based on that?

And, coming to blackmail. Who doesn’t blackmail in real life?

1. Boss- You should Butter me up or else your career suffers.

2. Teachers-Behave extra nicely and take Tutions from us or else we fail you.

3. Parents-Get married to a man we decide for you or else what will we tell the world.

You think the world is a beautiful place with saints walking around? No, it’s bitter manipulative and totally murky. No one is a saint and every human being is selfish to some degree or the other.

Does that mean, Bajaj’s actions can be negated? Of course not! He will have to take a journey of remorse and guilt. Coercion is crime, agreed, but we have seen coercion’s everywhere. He is a man of few words but he has WRONGED Prerna. What better punishment than not being loved by the one for whom your heart will beat eventually?

I am not NORMALISING OR TRIVIALISING the emotional manipulation and exploitation of her emotions. But, it’s a truth. Human interactions are complex and increasingly coupled with toxicity- be it emotional or psychological.

So, in the end my friend, the show is about Prerna, Anurag and Bajaj as characters. They are characters and not what we would want to see them doing.

Bottom line, we always have a choice! We just CHOOSE on the basis of our convenience. She is CAGED and stripped of her right to Love. The cage was definitely built by Bajaj. He dragged her there and then she took her step.

It’s not a WILL issue, it’s her SKILL issue!

I hate reading long posts but I read every word of yours.

You have such a way with words, you have to be a writer and agree with the premise of your post.

Also agree with bold- Bajaj's angst will be entertaining to watch.

The sacrifice is not being glorified for the first time . This is the 2nd time. I raised a voice against it but no..that was love..Anurag never apologized for hurting prerna to that level for his sacrifice.....prerna forgave him before you could blink an eye..Was he forgiven because he is the father of the child ? That remind me , That is also prernas choice , to keep this news as a secret , which might shape her futur4 and we will again say poor her , she is being victimized.

Euphoric ,I know where you are coming from.. we need to see characters as they are..they have had their share of mistakes so these circumstances are being created by them not the destiny.

However that doesn't absolve bajaj of what he did.i completely agree that he should be taken to task ..he needs to redeem himself. Now that he thinks they can be friends he wont walk out like that..his child is his priority . This was not about bajaj so i didnt mention him..

Now after he touched prerna's waist, I doubt he really married prerna for his daughter? He is definitely not good man in my eyes. He cannot become good person by talking few good words to prerna. N I believe we shd not make such figures for any praise worthy which can question our ethics. We need to think about what are we supporting...

I don't have to think about what I am supporting because I know, what I am supporting and this definitely can't question my ethics. Supporting Prerna with the other one might. I have my set of rules and principles I live by and there have been a lot of instances earlier that doesn't let me accept the prior two.

I can actually explain why I find him a good fit for Prerna but that would mean I have to write including Anurag and then people would have a problem for going out of the topic of this particular thread discussion but I really think, it's highly about how one perceives thing. The hand on waist is actually not a big deal for me because the same hand rested on the same place when they were dancing and she wasn't uncomfortable and I personally find no wrong intention from his side in this particular scenario. Rather I think this was a forced bit because they wanted a happy moment to promote Radhe Radhe. 🤣

No, but on a serious note, I'll write it in some other thread perhaps or even better, if I manage to write - I will drop it in a PM too. Good day ahead. :)

Anurag is right for her or bajaj that was her choice. And she loved anurag. I believe ppl learn from their experiences. Atleast thr wont be any regrets in life or the pain of unrequitted desires even if it failed. A part of her will always yearn for the life that cud hv been.

Individual thing. You can't accept him. I can.

We yearn for a lot of things in life and also, for the life that could have been, like you say but that doesn't stop our lives, does it? Disappointments are a part of our lives. We have to live with them when encountered.

In life , everg single option is like that..one in your favour ,other, not so in your favour , confusion prevails everytime. But everyone and everything cant be perfect. So its not about making right or wrong choices, it's about making "smart" choices. It was her morals vs love , She chose morals. Her choice. That's how it is. Good people suffer their goodness.

Be it anyone , anyone in this world ,nobody cries over love for their entire lifetime. And those who do are not normal. The person may be right in front of you and you may love him and respect him but all the would be s and could be s cannot be controlled ..therr Is no use lamenting over it. This future scenario is a problem. If prerna is genuinely happy with bajaj in future, Will you accept her choice? Or we will be stuck in time "if" that deal didnt happen history would be different ?

Thank you😊 I like the fact that you are completely candid about your dislike for reading long posts and I appreciate your time investment for reading something which completely lacks brevity

I have seen frustrated lovers but why Bajaj will fascinate because of the following.

1. He will know he is guilty of WRONGING the one he loves.

2. Both the men, they hold on to heir respective facts dearly and we see both the men trying to get the portions that the other man has. Anurag has her heart and soul. Rishabh has her loyalty and name attached to him. Both men, want to gain what the other one has. For someone who cares a hoot for the heart, he won't be satisfied by only loyalty and duty. He would crave for more yet he won't have it or can he claim it.

Leads to the pathos, isn't it?
