She did have the choice, and no matter what she would have to live with her choice. In life at times you are given two bad choices and you have to make up your mind and chose one. Bajaj is no saint as he says. He had his reasons, but he didnt force her at gun point. She could have tried to find some other options but she couldnt bare to see anurag in prison.

I do believe at some point bajaj will let prerna go, the question is will she chose to stay or go back to Anurag.

Sorry i don't understand how it is difficult for prerna to make a choice in future life. Kuki is not an orphan, his father is there for her and if he dies, prerna can adopt kuki and live with anurag. Is it that tough? I understand she is blasted from all sides but most of it is self invited.

Anyone Sane would fight tooth and nail for their life before giving up. That time she didn't know about kuki. Anurag was set free before she got married , she could have done anything , there were hundreds of options for her , but not marry bajaj. Like she could have faked her death , She could have told anurag if she trusted him , he would have tried his best to protect her. If she married anurag what could have happened? Bajaj would have destroyed basus financially right ? Did she trust anurag enough to live with him under any such circumstance? She thought money will be more important to him ?the way he is going mad after her ,he is already giving up on everything including his sanity.whatever may have happened in the future , she would have got her epic love isnt it ? Trust toh karo kisi par ? Who is to be blamed for that ? Intact bajaj found the perfect bakri who would have given up easily in her emotions ,it was so easy to get her. So this.is the choice she had. That is "TRUST her LoVE" but she chose not to.

Even now she can walk out anytime , hell with shadi rishta and everything..why not ? Like bajaj can be selfish and manipulate who is stopping her to follow his steps ? Like you expect the entire world to give everything to you on a platter only then you will start acting ? Not fight for what you heart desire ?

Every person has a choice in life, but we often feel that we are victims to circumstances. I concur with what you wrote. Rightfully so!

But, I believe our choices are not indicative of our circumstances but are merely a reflection of our personality. Prerna’s personality is like that and that’s how sadly Indian women are expected to behave. As superwomen who have the ONLY option to sacrifice themselves. Faulty writing, NO but this is called creating empathy. Mass media caters to women who are vastly TRP audience. Majorly, to a generation whose lives have either been confined to homes or are still attached to the names of traditions. Women are supposed to be docile and are largely expected to be sacrificial lambs.

So, when you create a character who sacrifices everything all the time for family, it somehow creates a psychological empathy in the minds of the audience who believe strongly that they too are victims to circumstances. This empathy evokes the curiosity to know more about them and watch the show the next day. They relate to it.

It’s always easy to blame circumstances, isn’t it? That’s what these show makers create. A make believe world and situation of comfort for the watchers.

It’s like telling them - ‘ SEE, the heroine too had no option but to sacrifice.’

Coming back to the topic. Did Prerna really have a choice? Of course yes, everyone has. In life, everyone has a choice until they are beaten up physically or forced. So, could Prerna saved this situation? Yes, had she not been Prerna. Remember, this Prerna is not a Prerna in your Head or as you would want her to react. She is the Prerna makers have created whose DNA is taking the most myopic way out-Put herself as shield to protect the family. When I say shield, that doesn’t mean, she fights but she simply takes the torment herself.

I would give you an example- Haven’t we heard our mothers, MIL’s say - Bhagwan Karen tumhari bimari mujhe lag haye. Bhagwan ko agar bulana hai toh mujhe bula le’.

That’s the most natural reaction a TRP audience has and imagine a character that is drawn similar to hers. They are thrilled.

Prerna is simply a reflection of such women and above all Prerna is written that way. We are all about the choices we make and the chances we take. Prerna took a chance and made her choice. Who are we to judge her based on that?

And, coming to blackmail. Who doesn’t blackmail in real life?

1. Boss- You should Butter me up or else your career suffers.

2. Teachers-Behave extra nicely and take Tutions from us or else we fail you.

3. Parents-Get married to a man we decide for you or else what will we tell the world.

You think the world is a beautiful place with saints walking around? No, it’s bitter manipulative and totally murky. No one is a saint and every human being is selfish to some degree or the other.

Does that mean, Bajaj’s actions can be negated? Of course not! He will have to take a journey of remorse and guilt. Coercion is crime, agreed, but we have seen coercion’s everywhere. He is a man of few words but he has WRONGED Prerna. What better punishment than not being loved by the one for whom your heart will beat eventually?

I am not NORMALISING OR TRIVIALISING the emotional manipulation and exploitation of her emotions. But, it’s a truth. Human interactions are complex and increasingly coupled with toxicity- be it emotional or psychological.

So, in the end my friend, the show is about Prerna, Anurag and Bajaj as characters. They are characters and not what we would want to see them doing.

Bottom line, we always have a choice! We just CHOOSE on the basis of our convenience. She is CAGED and stripped of her right to Love. The cage was definitely built by Bajaj. He dragged her there and then she took her step.

It’s not a WILL issue, it’s her SKILL issue!

TPrerna did have choice. She is a 21st Century Kolkata girl. No Kolkata girl would just give up on someone's life, that too as dear one as she claims Anurag to be, just like that without any fight, without trying to gather proofs for his innocence. The problem is with the CVs. CV tried in a lame way to show that she was helpless back then and now is trying to justify that she was not. In my opinion, she always had this choice and she chose this way out. It's her choice at the end of the day, because more than her, it was the rest of the useless Basu's job to rescue Anurag and not put everything on her. But back then, if they did put all burdens on her, then it's entirely her choice about how she deals with the situation, whether she wants a tough fight or an easy marriage. I do not blame her either, because primarily it was not her job. IMO, she wasn't even his wife or family member, pardon me if Dhaga marriage means zilch to me.

Bajaj, most definitely, did not blackmail Prerna. He is not like Mr.India jo Basu khandaan ka theka leke rakhha hai. It was a good deal both PreRish cracked for their benefits. Bajaj had to help his arch enemy just for Kuki, and Prerna could repay him with her unconditional love for Kuki. Win win scenario. Basus will realize when they will be informed about this. Anurag lost Prerna but got his life back. Win win for all.

She had a choice of leaving anurag to die or sacrifice her love. She choosed anurag. And mr bajaj also had a choice to become a savior for anurag for free leaving his daughter needs or to get the girl who brought positive changes in his daughter home as her mother, so his choice was btw being a savior or being a father and he choosed being a father. I dont find him wrong. His ways are wrong, its a fact that deals shouldnt involve humans. But as illogical the deal sounds in today world....the same logic is there in prerna accepting it.....bajaj was not the only person in the world who would get her justice.....she could have taken police help or should have asked police to get the cctv footage from bajaj.....a lot of things could have been done. Ronit was roaming alive .......she could have searched and found rohit but she choosed to give into the deal because she couldnt take any risks with anurag life. The same way bajaj dint wanted to take risks with his daughter life. When he saw the women with daughter.....he might have thought of proposing only to realize she is getting married to someone else already. Its the wheel of fate that turned situations in a way that bajaj got the upper hand and got what he wanted.

Regarding he has trapped prerna in a bigger trap because now she loves cookie. Bajaj doesnt thinks from a point of view that he will die and then how will prerna decide btw cookie and anurag......he has a point of view that prerna is gonna be with him all his life now. Dint he cleared that when he said prerna ki kahani mujhse jud gayi hain aur ab hamesha judi rahegi. So he doesnt feel prerna will have to ever decide btw cookie and anurag.

Prerna is suffering......yes she definitely is but bajaj is not the only reason for it. Bajaj did gave her the choice of choosing herself over her love which she didnt took. Bahuto ke liye khud ki zindagi zyaada imp hoti hain par uske liye anurag ki jyada imp thi.....that's why she is suffering. She is suffering because of her decision. And she is bearing the wrath from anurag too because of her own decision of not telling him the truth. People are hating her because she isnt disclosing things and why she doesnt want to disclose......its because she feels that anurag will not be able to take that she destroyed her life for him....she doesnt want him to be in guilt.....she is hearing everyone say all kind of things to her because she doesnt want anurag to suffer. If she tells truth, she will instead get respect for her sacrifice from each family member of basu family.....her own family will also forgive her. Its not mr bajaj who wish to see her suffer, instead he offers to share her pain. Its her own decision as she doesnt wish to see anurag blaming himself.

Prerna had a choice or not, ram jaane. but what about her dimag. Why didn’t she approach police and tell them everything that mr.bajaj had evidence or ask them to collect cctv footage of bajaj factory?

It is not similar with Prerna and Bajaj. He is not a saint. I will never say that he is one. He was never one. He is selfish. Humans are selfish, and for what they are selfish, varies. He is selfish for his daughter. He got an opportunity to do something that could put his daughter on the path of healing and he did that. Prerna was selfish for Anurag's life so she gave in. The difference here is - the person who is suffering the most is Prerna. No matter how much I call out her for the ways she chooses, I can't have a dislike toward her. All that she has ever wanted is - happiness and well being of her loved ones. Having said that, I repeat that I don't think that he is beyond redemption rather I personally believe, he is a good fit as Prerna's partner. The man knows to trust, respect and understand her.

What is the difference in forced marriage n giving choice which is actually not choice. Also how we can forgive bajaj's misdeeds. He trapped anurag for prerna. He separated two love birds for his selfish. How such man even become good gift to prerna as he is too selfish n he can go any extent to harm somebody. Now after he touched prerna's waist, I doubt he really married prerna for his daughter? He is definitely not good man in my eyes. He cannot become good person by talking few good words to prerna. N I believe we shd not make such figures for any praise worthy which can question our ethics. We need to think about what are we supporting...

I think that's exactly what TM wanted to convey. Anurag's actions left her with no choice coz she was emotionally bound to take that decision. And because she was shackled then, her love for him made her take that step, and now she's in another trap.

The way I interpret it, she just jumped from the frying pan to the fire. The problem is they didn't show the Anurag in jail sequence with the intensity with which they SHOULD have shown it, so it seems like she wasn't helpless enough. But maybe she was.

TM was trying to say, she was trapped, and she got further trapped and Bajaj is the instigator for the next trap. There again, I am not saying he should plead guilty or anything.

Before Kuki got introduced, if the marriage had only been to spite Anurag, Prerna could have hated him easily with no qualms and who knows eventually she could have gotten back to him. We don't know.

But a child got involved here, and Prerna herself has gotten chained to this relationship now. She loves the child, it's a strength if you look at it one way and a weakness from another point of view.

Yeah, Bajaj didn't ask her to love Kuki, so he can easily be cleared of all blame.

I'd only say it isn't very easy to pinpoint who's guilty or what's the guilt here but at the end, Prerna is the one who's hurt, and she isn't going to be happy anyways. Keeping aside Anurag's hurt of course.

It was Anurag's fault to get into the mess he got into.

But Bajaj taking advantage of Prerna's misery (mind you, he could have point blank refused to help her right, saying I hate the guy and I won't help), was a deal nevertheless and both of them got something out of it. But the end result was, she's turned from the devil to the deep sea and wherever she turns there's only gonna be misery.

Potentially, Bajaj could be hurting as well but this post was on Prerna so only sticking to that.

Isn't it anurag was trapped by ronit n bajaj. Why baj was hating is still not disclosed. Bajaj wanted to destroy anurag. It was not anurag action as prerna thinking. I hope prerna get to know this side of bajaj soon.

Ofcourse prerna is punching bag bcoz of her own traits being good human being n caring everyone around her.

He didn't tie her to himself, so yes she did have a choice, is bajaj grey? yes? does Prerna care that he is grey? I don't think so! I think she has moved passed the "blackmail" already!
