It works the other way too, Bollywood does not promote their cinema enough in the south. They have never tried.
Also most of the cinema that's churned out in Bollywood is not relatable at all or they are most remakes of south masala movies.
Content wise, regional cinemas have always been superior no wonder a movie like Badhai ho and Andhadhun gets lapped up and hailed but these kind of cinema with different content and interesting plot lines are common in the south and regional cinema.
As for remakes, I mean originals are always superior in most cases, why watch a remake when the original is available. Moreover they make a mockery of the original. Remakes have been happening for long, even a padosan is a remake from the original Bengali story. I had seen the tamil version too , padosan came way later. This is just one example, there were so many sivaji/gemini movies that were copied to Hindi.
I want to see more collaboration of south and north cinema , usually all the technical people are from the south, but they are never identified, but the more it happens , the more its better for cinema as a whole.
It's good that south cinema is being slowly and steadily reaching pan india be it through Prabhu Deva's dance or AR Rahman's songs or a Mani Ratnam's or a Bahubali , KGF or Saaho or a Kolaveri di , or through Shankar's Robot etc
