This is definitely fake, but I wouldn't put it past Salman to suggest these ridiculous things. He's a smart businessman, but a poor artist.

Jha wrote an article saying the movie is not shelved and they are looking for a replacement for Salman. Article says Bhansali spent a yr on the story and he is not going to abandon it. Alia will still be the female in it.

Even if Salman wasn’t pushing to caste his entourage he definitely doesn’t like how SLB handles things on set. He has time and again mentioned in interviews of his disdain towards SlB’s behavior on set. There would have been problems.

So if the shelving was not because of salman’s interference although his tweet clearly states that slb wanted to make the movie slb way...what does that mean...Salman ki acting or non acting was rejected by slb? Ab koi reason toh hoga na shelve honey ka ...lol

SLB does allow some changes. It depends on how important that thing is for him. Salman himself added stupid fart jokes in HDDCC and Bhansali allowed it but he didn't allow Salman to get Ash in the end like he wanted. If it doesn't change the full fabric of the movie, I don't think he minds. Vikrant Massey is not important - he would be willing to change him.

Salman Khan is very free flowing and SLB is more strict strict strict

Salman is a friend since long and SLB always said nice things about him even when they were not on talking terms. But it has been ages since they worked together and SLB is not the newcomer director he once was. They both are very particular about things and have huge egos... something big must have happened for either one of them to shelve the movie after so much fanfare and hoopla. This was a much anticipated movie for both. By the looks of it no one will know the truth since both the parties are trying to make it look like it was an amicable parting.

Actually there were blinds and rumours that Viacom wanted a more popular star since the budget was huge for Ratan's part hence SLB approached known faces for that part before Shahid agreed to do the part.
