In my days in the 90s, we never had social media. We had ITV shows which were pure gold. Extremely talented people like Kawaljeet, Pankaj Kapoor, Bharti Achrekar, Anjan Srivastav and so many more played positive and negative characters. We never bashed the actors. We appreciated the characters. Can u imagine if social media had been there back then, they would not have spared even Arun Govil, Deepika, Arjun, Nitish Bharadwaj, etc...who played roles in Ramayana and Mahabharat. On one hand, I see viewers trolling Ekta and cursing her for her stupid shows. On the other hand, when we get shows that provoke us to use our brain cells, this is how some people react. What a shame.

Ashnoor is a bundle of talent. And she did not let her career hamper her studies either. All those who are criitisizng her should first prove themselves better than her at her art and academics.

As for Babita's ego, I agree with KK. Babita had a latent ego which has existed from the beginning. But only a handful of viewers could read between the lines. Majority labeled it as self-respect. I will blame the KK because the writing is at fault here. They should have given more instances from her past and made the writing more clear so that everybody understood.

As for flaws, we all have them. I will not go into that discussion anymore.

There is too much hatred in the world. I don't think we need more of it. If mankind has to survive, it should first start with respect and love for others.

Well said!

I am happy I am part of the handful of viewers because I spotted it way way earlier and spoke about it before the PH openly naming it.

Its shocking that such talented actors should be trolled like this. Ashnoor is a gem and so are Anirudh, Paridhi and the others. Actually I do think the makers have flagged the inability of Babita to differentiate between ego & self- respect right from the start. HS had tried to explain to her then as well but its not so easy to learn. Frankly Babita comes across as a bit obtuse at times (deliberately done or not I do not know), and I have not loved the character as much as HS or Mini but perhaps that is partly the point - we are not all charming & amusing but that does not mean we should not be valued as much as the more shiny type of people.

As some one on the forum noted, its like a long suppressed spring tends to expand to its fullest when released and has to find balance, Babita really is like that and the freedom has gone to her head a bit. But I truest the team to portray it well and I know the amazing group of PB actors will give it their best and in the meantime we have fun venting & reading each others views.

Oh thank God!! They spoke whatever I wanted to say!! Thank you writers.. You are amazing!!!

I have seen people in this forum.. Saying how bad is Babita. So. Much of ego.. HS is so mahaan.. Blah blah blah.. This is so hypocritical.. When we speak about women empowerment and accepting as people as they are.. We forget how each and everyone has flaws.. We forget how much we have flaws.. Expect people to be perfect.. Such criticism. So bad. As viewers we have only seen HS good side.. But his negative behaviour is yet to be shown! I'm so sorry to tell here that people are against Babita.. And has soft corner for HS. Can we not judge characters please???? Let us take at face value. I apologize for words. But this is not fair for Babita.

True Relationship succeeds when both of the people accept each other with FLAWS! If you cannot accept each other.. There will be differences always.?!

Maybe there wouldn’t be this issue if they didn’t depict her as being innocent and perfect from the start to get the audience to completely hate ashok. Yes, everyone is flawed but she weren’t showed as flawed from the beginning. She was shown as selfless, self sacrificing and ALWAYS putting others first.

This is not any reason to bash the character but it’s the inconsistency that’s caused this and now they’re turning into into a woman issue?

Hs character received similar abuse when he insulted babita and told her not to worry about other men, because all this time he too was shown as a perfect man with the utmost respect for women. They should create characters with flaws at the offset not create them as “perfect” and then later introduce flaws that’s supposedly been there all this time.

I’m actually of the opinion that babitas flaws (ego) is something they recently thought up, as it just does not fit in with the shy, meek character they introduced us to

Padma when Babes rejected alimony, HS had explained to her that taking alimony is not about having self-respect or not. It is the legal right of a woman. However, Babita refused to take it. I understand that this is a TV show and hence they can show this. But in real life, that alimony can help many women who do not have that financial standing and need that money badly. It is exactly for this reason that alimony is made available to women. So why did the makers not show it? It is at that point I began to feel Babita has a latent ego. She may have thought ..ok Ashok you left me ...so get lost...I don't want anything...while this thought may be idealistic, it is not practical. Perhaps the CVs kept it open-ended without actually saying the word "ego" thinking about future tracks. Till date, Babita has no idea how refusing that money lead to Mini 's photography course dreams being shattered. I hope the CVs tie that loose end. I want to see Babita's reaction and explanation when she comes to know what her action did to Mini's career.

Then they made Ashok completely black which was not needed. Also, the makers have not given any story about what kind of relationship Ashok Babita had in the initial years before he fell for Mita.

I don't know if they deliberately left it open.

Point is, the writing should have been better. They should have provided a strong foundation to Babita's ego. It seems to me the makers were not sure if the show would be on air. Sony is infamous for axing shows. Result is faulty writing with lots of loopholes.

Also, now KK is saying it is HS's test. My question is why? A divorcee and a widower's second marriage is a test to both.

KK is getting criticism because of their own fault. They should not put all blame on the fans only.
