Holding her chin he lifted her and asked… are you ok? She nodded yes… he lowered the quilt to find infact she had sore marks on her hands… neck and............ I am sorry, is it hurting?… I have been harsh… she quickly closed his mouth and said no… I am fine…. She could not talk more as she was indeed palpitating in his hold… He realized and soothed her to calm…I love you he said…
His phone vibrated when he asked the helpers to come in 15 minutes. They both refreshed….
Tanu called her and asked if she should call in leave giggling when the K doctor said I will be there soon set the OT for the 2 pm surgery she said.
Suraj was getting ready when she saw his torso…. Toned but with quite a few wound marks… unknowingly she caressed his mark on his rib..and the others too … she teared a bit when he said… Angel, these are the prize I got for battling the bad….. please don’t tear I know I am not that with a perfect tor…..she caressed and said You are a Kshatriya and you look more handsome and brave like a warrior, I am proud of You… they were lost in each other gaze when the door bell rang.
He got a call from the Commissioner and quickly got into his Uniform and left grabbing a quick bite and dropping her at the hospital though she said she would walk down.

They both were drowned in their work and missed lunch too.
Suraj was called for a special protection duty for the Prime Minister and he had to rush to Delhi…. She knew the reality hitting and she took it bold though her heart was craving for him…

His walkie was beeping and the jeep was there to take him to the airport…. He asked her to stay safe or be in the hospital room till he comes. She assured him she will manage and act accordingly. It was just a day and they had to part…… He walked to the door and turned to wave to her… her eyes ….. was clouding……it cringed him. He doubled up and pulled her aside to their room… She hugged him and said… I am sorry…. The Officer walked straight and set off to his duty…..while the Doctor was holding his heart which just beats for her…

It was over ten days and he would call her whenever he would get his time but it was too difficult as either she will be in the OT or in rounds or if she called his phone would go unanswered … but a good morning Angel and good night Darling was never missed everyday.
Though engrossed in their work they missed each other during their few moments and more so psychologically and physically too now. She would touch her swore parts the marks left by him and smile… while thinking if he would remember and miss or the Devil will be taking over him due to his work. He would touch his sword which had the lock along with it which he added to his chain when he had ordered the mangalsutra for her….He would kiss it at the start of the day and then go about forgetting everything when he is on his Protect Dignitary mission.
She would stay in her room or in their apartment depending upon her work, but they could not converse much as he was always in the high alert protection mode.

He was in pure white shirt tight fitting his physic with a blue slim fitting jean with coat at the side. For the first time she was seeing him in a shirt as he had always been in T or in his uniform. She was about to check in when she got a call from the hospital that the patient who was operated in the morning had developed severe complications.
She debated and with no option called him to tell him that she was unable to make it and has to go to the hospital when he paused for a second and said oh ok and the line got disconnected…..
She could not reach him again as it was switched off. She was perplexed….. but the Doctor put everything aside and went to fulfill her professional oath that she had taken while taking her certificate.
It was late midnight and the patient was stable….
She went to her apartment in the saree she wore to the airport…. Holding his pic was crying… His phone was still not reachable…She heard the door bell.
The helpers were sleeping so she went to open the door…………………….
The Devil was indeed standing at the door…. She just could not believe herself….

Her heart was heaving.. she slowly smiled….. and, he said...I did not switch off my phone the battery died as I did not carry the powerbank….
He wiped her tears and hugged her… closing the door behind….he took her to their room…
When you told that you had to go to the hospital I knew it was an emergency, but before I could say anything my phone died and when I reached to call from the landline guess you went to the OT so could not reach you.
I quickly finished the felicitation and did not stay behind for the cocktails as this Cock wanted to meet his Hen soon… So I quickly got onto the available jeep and drove off to see you. I was sure my Angel would be brooding over and accusing herself….hmmm she said….I was scared that you….

She was worried for a second as if he would think it was too soon as they did not plan about family….but missed on protection as passion was taking over their mini separations... He hugged her thinking about his father…. Thank you daddy for finding me the best lock….and blessing me with a complete family…
She slept in his arms … her face was plain…. Innocent with happiness. He cradled her close to him … caressing her flat belly he said… who ever you are a little angel or a little devil…. I will love you and protect you a lot but my love for my Angel will be always more…. As she is too precious to me…. She is my first baby and will always be my best….. He kissed her belly…. and laid beside her eyes closed.
She smiled with her eyes closed as she listened to the man who was there like a rock, like a pillar who will always hold her as his first responsibility.
I saw through the balcony as the sky was clear white with blue clouds but the clouds indeed had its own silver lining which is a very special hue.
