Chapter 10 Final
The Harvesting
The proceeding at the court commenced … The video recordings along with Kabir’s recording, Asha, and the two testimony in confidence were submitted. Suraj gave his points from the hospital through a video calling. The case was quite strong so it was sure Bhero will be convicted but it was debating how much the tenure will be. The judgement would take atleast few months,but Bhero was shocked that Kabir was aware of his dark side. He was indeed in a state of shock too as there was none to be on his side. The judiciary as per the norms of the law was allowing him to have his lawyer but unfortunately none was ready so the court assigned one for the completion of the process.

The blossom…
It took two weeks for him to just glide and get to sit up on his own… it was one of the days when she was busy checking his wounds with the general physician. He was improving fast. She looked up, when he asked how long do you think I will take to get back on my feet. She said at least three months….
He said that’s too much of a luxury, I need to be fine and get out of the hospital soon… All of a sudden she felt sad, something was cringing her. a bit of tear… I know you would want to go back home.
He was in his bandages and still not comfortable to wear a T or shirt. The tear in her eyes, teared his heart but he smiled holding her hands said Doctor as you are wedded to your steth, I am to my uniform. She smiled hmm.
Though painful for him but the three months was indeed paving way as knowing phase for each other as destiny had twined them to even confess their love rather affection for each other but they had to know more. It was beautiful indeed. .
The Dr would do her surgery if any and go do her rounds and also attend to any emergency… They would have the breakfast together if she doesnot have any OT and he was slowly going through an upgradation in the diet. Ajay and the others used to visit him for his advice on many cases though he literally would want to go but with the AL around it was not that easy but all he would do is just smile at her when she chides when he overdoes his work which would hurt his torso.. They had their touch and go moments of their hands. In all this Tanu was very happy as she found her K friend making a new world and not being in her shell and so was Ajay as he now get to see his K boss a bit smiling though not much.
The Doctor , a true professional she would just leave a note and get going with her case but always was beside him when she had no duty… They used to talk a lot about their work,discuss about political pressures, general debates…and she would always be more of feministic . She slowly started to be more comfortable with him to sometimes he would be in his own world of reading any case or talking to the Commissioner and Ajay in dealing with cases which were difficult to crack. She would just admire his thought process and also the way he is always calm but firm..
He told her about the family business and how his work keeps him moving between cities and never a day he would miss not talking about his father. The reality was striking that both tied to their professions which are mobile so taking their relationship to the next step would be calling for lot of debacle.
She for one realized how much he trusts and loves his father. … she would keep calm when he soon realized the pain and would lessen his talk about his house..
She would come tired after a complicated surgery and would just sit beside him while he would hold her hands admiring her and her non nonsense attitude with her staff and the way she would put her feet firm to call a spade a spade if she finds the treatment is wrong or if the reports are tampered.
He was moved to the special room and she would be with him till he sleeps. He never would insists her to stay behind as he was able to be mobile but needed a bit of support. Not much of sweet talk but she would admire him a lot. Both were going through an entirely different experience.
She would rarely talk about her mother as for most of the days she was sick…and he soon realized that this Doctor had battled through her life all alone and not much of friends or any one she had. He would just loose himself in her innocent natural face and wanted to protect her and love her more but was never taking any advantage as he wanted her to take their relationship to the next level.
It was her off day she was in his room while he was sitting at the side table having coffee. she was on the bedside couch in a simple salwar with just a small bindhi and a small single stone stud.. She was reading a case study when he lost himself in her plain beauty. He did not want to disturb and for the first time was admiring her without batting his eyelid… she felt a tinge in her because of his gaze.The first time her cheeks changed pink…eyes lowered. He felt it was different and a smile on his lips as he felt she was getting affected.
His wounds and blisters were healing in his hands and legs but the torso was still recovering.. He tried to get up when out of the three, his wound near the heart still pained. He whined when she just jumped to him and held him. Suraj please be careful, be slow don’t strain… is it paining too much… . she held him jittering…continuously shooting questions. For the first time she held his torso on the rib side which was not covered by the bandage and he held her hands. Her eyes was full of pain…forehead shrinking…. She slowly held him and placed him on the bed while she sat on the bed beside him…
Thank you he said..when she looked up why she asked. Getting hurt is not new for me, its normal in my work.. there are many wounds but this is the first time I had somebody to be beside me, worrying about me…. His eyes was tearing….caressing her hands…otherwise it was just me and the ceiling or the walls around, he smiled… there was few moments of silence as she caressed his hands too…not wanting to leave him… He slept peacefully..

AjNu were sharing their happiness that they were taking their relationship further and their families have spoken and fixed the date it was in another couple of weeks time. Tanu infact persuaded Chakor as now that Suraj is fine and after the judgement he would be leaving for Aligarh and she should take it forward. forward… think about having her own family. She for a second debated… … is she suitable to have family… She had never thought about it. Is she right for him. Yes she is in love but marriage was something she could not reason it immediately. She didn’t know what his feeling was. She was scared so just kept aside.
Suraj was getting fine and was waiting for the judgement day. The reality that they both have to stay separate from now on was hitting them slowly and they started to feel it. AjNu suggested that they can all go together to Suraj’s quarters when he gets discharged from the hospital so that atleast that will ensure things are set but hindsight they wanted the K Jodi to take it forward.
Suraj was discharged and they all went together… It was a simple one bed apartment with a kitchen and simple cooking items. She went in and she saw the pic of Pankaj Khatri in the drawing. He resembled Suraj very much. This is… she turned to Suraj when he nodded yes. Just unable to hold herself she went in front of the pic and kneeled, thanking him and crying and also apologizing for she thought he shunned his responsibility in the middle. I am so unlucky that I could not meet you even once though you tried to contact me. She bowed herself when Tanu consoled her while Suraj was close to her, wanting to hold her but held himself. Tanu prepared tea and a light snacks for them…. You know everything Chakor said. Tanu smiled, arey every girl knows she said…
AjNu casually spoke about the rituals and teased how Ajay’s mama wanted dowry and the normal wedding gifts while Ajay stood firm and said that nothing should be given and only the basic things while Tanu said marrying him is a great favour she is doing and he should give her dowry… they all laughed but something hit Chakor… which did not go unnoticed by the Officer.
They were invited for their engagement ceremony which was being held in the temple neary by in two days. They left the K Jodi…
She was calm… Chakor are you ok he asked..
She looked up to him…her eyes were full of tears. She did not know what to speak but had so much within herself.…. The last three months has changed her world completely. She woke up to see him and slept after he slept.. Everything changed but suddenly when he came out of the hospital…something was cringing within her. He could understand those questions in her eyes… He was also feeling the same. He woke up to see her and slept holding her hands… everything changed for him too.. His heart was pounding too. She could not say anything but just controlled herself and told him to have all the medicines on time stayed for sometime till an constable came though he did not want but she insisted that somebody is there with him in case of any emergency.
She started to leave…when he said… do you want to say something… his heart was screaming please please speak out,… your eyes says everything… She just lowered and said please take care… Good night…I will see you tomorrow. He turned and said Chakor…..thank you but my night will not …. When the constable came with an auto for her…. She quickly got into the auto and got back to her room….. she was feeling very empty…He was also feeling very empty and lonely.
Tanu’s words was coming in her ears….. Am I best for him…. I have nothing… other than these two suit cases….One with my certificates and one with my dresses.. She closed her eyes… she was holding the band and did not know when sleep took over.
He was just looking at his fathers pic…. The one who has the sword is the one who can hold you… the perfect lock….He held his band which was given along with his belongings while being discharged from the hospital. Kissing it he closed his eyes….

The judgement was written and Bhero was given a life imprisonment and to pay Rs.4 lakhs as fine and if he fails to pay the fine he should serve twice the imprisonment. He was moved to Tihar Jail.
Asha along with the other two left for their villages, thanking all and were given couple of weeks leave for them to recover and continue their college.
Suraj and Chakor and the rest were at the temple for AjNu’s engagement. It was simple..
The couple were well dressed and exchanged their rings. All congratulated them. Su Kor hugged them when Tanu whispered into Chakor have you thought. He was in his simple shirt and she in a very simple saree with a small bindi…. Plain and he was lost in her.. the only difference he saw now was that she wore kajal which made her eyes like a bee and he lost himself in that. Unknowingly he said beautiful when she just lowered her head. The K jodi were standing together and Chakor was helping him holding his plate at the buffet when one old lady said… nazar na lagey bahut acha Jodi hai aap dono… when they both just looked at each other lost in their eyes.

The commissioner applauded Suraj and said he have still not chosen a base office and he can go now to Aligarh but soon will be called back.
He was ready to go to Aligarh. He packed his things and steered his jeep to the hospital.
He came to the hospital… met the Chief and thanked the staff who helped him recover but Chakor was nowhere to be seen. His eyes were searching for her and his heart pounding.. Where are you doctor…… He asked Tanu who showed him her room..praying hard she walked back.
He went to her room….She was standing near the window… tears rolling…Her room was plain like her with just a study table, single cot and two suitcases and few books.
Chakor he very softly called out when she quickly turned towards him and held his hands.. Are you leaving she asked… her voice was breaking…I know your work is over here. You brought the evil to books.. You need to go to your place.. Take care of your health…..
He just told I love you….. you talk too much but you do not talk what your eyes talk .
She whimpered when for the first time he held her shoulders…please talk to me what your heart says….Will you com… before he could complete
tears rolled her eyes…yes I want to talk… my heart says so many but I am unable to .. I am not like those girls… I don’t know many things a normal girl should know, never had a house…nor anyone…. I have nothing… except for these two suitcases..
She looked up to him and was shocked to see his eye with tears…full of love…
She held his hands which were holding her shoulders. With great difficulty she closed her eyes and spoke
I love you too very much… I feel my world will stop without you…I don’t know if its too early or it’s the right time but…
Mr. Khatri…. Can Dr.Chakor have your name as her sur..na...mee ………………… she could not complete…………….. her head was bent down, her body shaking.
He held her tight…. His eyes with tears… hearing those words from her… those words which he wanted to hear from her…The Sword was waiting for its Lock to open up…
He held her cheeks with both hands and lifted her face … Kissing her forehead… she opened her eyes…Both their hearts were pounding…. His kiss sent her jitters the kiss which gave her the confidence that the man in front of her is there to take complete responsibility of her.
With utmost happiness he said Yes Yes Yes… Will you marry me??? He asked her again to reconfirm… the Officer wants a straight one… she nodded Yes Yes… but , she said I have nothing apart from the little savings to give you as …………………….when he just kept his fingers on her lips….. that touch of his fingers….its new… never had a man been near her… she was shaking and so was he as he had never touched a woman… …
I need you just you…. Nothing….For you are everything to me my Angel he said… She very slowly went into him and he slowly hugged her and calmed her… it was new…. They lost in each others embrace for few minutes…
The book behind fell down and came out the book mark the Sword with the Lock beneath.. They both came to their sense… She quickly took the book and caressed the book mark very preciously..
Looking at him she asked why the lock beneath the sword she asked… He smiled lifting her chin said yes My father had felt that Only this lock can hold this Sword… He further said so the sword had to wait for the lock to open.
So your father……………. She said… He said he felt you were the one for me.. and I too soon felt the same but trust me I wanted to know your feelings as I did not want it to be forced as because you were sponsored by him. He held her tight when she felt pained…what he asked… Officer your hands are too rough…. Hmmm Angel you need to get used to as these were holding guns and handling criminals. They both smiled hugging each other voicing I Love You.
So ….. excuse me Mr.Khatri and my dear friend …. Jumped Tanu… who came up as it was too long….
She hugged Chakor and said atlast my friend is going to get her Surname… Good at least better than the other name…
They both felt embarrassed and Chakor asked what other name when Tanu bit her tongue… ooops hann tell me you said he too had a name…
Tanu went backwards and said yes the Kadoos Jodi but bahut Khatra Jodi…and ran I am going to tell chief and Ajay….
They both smiled whataaa name Kadoos Jodi… yes Officer suits you well ha ha Devil..
Well nonetheless you too Arrogant Lady.
It was only laughter…..

Being professionals they had to chalk out their future as both were married to their professions first. As suggested by the Commissioner he took Kanpur as his base office. He made arrangements at Aligarh and informed that they will be visiting Aligarh very often. His bungalow people were very happy as finally he found his bride.
Kabir was also happy and offered one of his apartments for them but Suraj chose to buy a simple one as per his Angel’s choice which was closer to the hospital as she may need to rush for any emergency during any time of the day.
It was a simple wedding at the registrar office and the new wed AjNu signed witness along with the Chief and the Commissioner.
She was dressed in a beautiful red saree while he was in his red kurta pyjama… they signed the register to share the responsibility. He tied the mangalsutra a unique one for the unique Jodi it was with black beads with a sword and a lock in diamond as pendent. They had a small party at the Aligarh bungalow where the name board read as Mr. Suraj Khatri & Dr Chakor Khatri…
The long journey of the Darling and his Angel began……
It was new experience, every thing was new for each other… every action… they will learn learn and master everything …..
She said she does not know anything and he said he did not know anything… but sure they in their new journey will discover and know everything!!!!!
