Why did Yaadein flop?

This movie had everything - Hrithik Roshan on the verge of superstardom, Kareena Kapoor, Jackie Shroff and Subhash Ghai. The tunes of Anu Malik were foot-tapping and melodious.

The story wasn't bad too. I personally liked it a lot. It was all about family and love, and handed the emotions beautifully. I still watch it at times, it's my guilty pleasure!

So, according to you, why did it flop?

Coz of queen of over acting Kareena kapoor.. her acting was unbearable at the start of her career..

Aldo came across one article few years ago where ubash Ghai had said that the film was basicallu story of a father and his three daughters.. but after overnight stardom of Hrithik Roshan( coz of KPH) the producer had demanded change in story to give more screen space to HR.. The story writer did blunder under pressure...

Because it was really bland as a movie. It looked cringeworthy even in those days unlike Pardes. The only saving grace of this movie were the songs.

the film had everything which did NOT translated well on celluloid:

* the screenplay was allover the place.

* Screen writing was a SLOG (although story was good on paper)

* Film was totally non-engaging & irritating, it was hard to sit through the whole movie with patience.

* The film was directed in a way that the viewer cannot connect with the characters and don't care about them.
