I don't know whether I am doing the right thing by mentioning it here, but when I watched Mahabharat, at many times I felt the good deed done by the protagonists actually culminated into the great war which was necessary; yet brought destruction. For me Bhishma and Yudhisthir had been bigger culprits than Shakuni or Duryodhan.
I am apologizing in advance if anyone feels offended in my statement and I have no intention to hurt anyone's feelings. It's just what I had felt while watching it.

You expressed what i wanted to say about how Ved is the villain more beautifully. Thats exactly what i wanted to say. You also raised some interesting points about how emotions blind us when it comes to loved ones and Ved's obnoxiousness. If i had the energy i would have discussed with you. I'm afraid i used up all my energy recapping.

{Sacrifice- A common thread in most of your posts is how much Ved sacrificed and how much Ansh ought to be grateful for it.
1 ) It ceases being a sacrifice when you demand payment for it.
When you have to account for every breath you take and hand over control over every area of your life for the rest of your live in repayment. That is when it stops being a sacrifice but a long term investment plan with dividends coming in the 20th year.
2)Kids of her own ??
If this wasn't a two dimensional serial with a goody two shoes character. I'd say Vedashree would be a wonderfully complex character with less than pure motives. If she had children of her own they would have no need to be grateful to her. They'd take her for granted like all kids do. They wouldn't feel this compulsion to blindly obey every order just because she gave birth to them.
So why would she need to give birth to her own children when she has a powerful being at her beck and call. He worships the ground she walks on.
He'd lay down his life for her. Its immensely flattering to the ego. Bonus she gets to rub it in to her sister.
3)What Ansh should be grateful for !
The years of warmth he enjoyed in that family. The fact that there was another mother who took care of him and was loved so much that he never felt the absense of Mo mom. That Ved accepted Ansh as her own son.
Not I repeat for her decision not to have kids of her own . He does not owe her anything for her decision. And certainly not to the extent he has to overcompensate for it. That decision was taken be her only.}
