Actually, it isn't difficult anymore to find factual info when having precise questions... I'm more interested to look at evolutions throughout the history of mankind and at reasons why good things changed into bad things...

Yes, Halala and Mutah are just examples of how religious origins-originally humane, positive, and based on partnership-became increasingly distorted by male influence; this occurred across all major religions.

The core texts of Islam introduced rights for women that were unprecedented in the Arabian Peninsula at the time (7th century) - such as the right to own property and inherit (assets that wives were not required to share with their husbands) and the explicit right to refuse a marriage or seek a divorce. Following the death of the Prophet Muhammad, the interpretation of these texts and the administration of law fell almost exclusively into the hands of men - as was the case, incidentally, in the other "major" religions.

Halala: In ancient Arabia, men could repudiate and take back their wives an unlimited number of times. Women lived in a state of perpetual uncertainty-neither free nor truly married. To put an end to this arbitrary behavior, Islam introduced a limit. A man could divorce and easily take back his wife only twice; the third divorce was final. While a man could dissolve the marriage without citing a specific reason, he bore the full financial risk. In the event of a Talaq, he was required to immediately pay the woman any outstanding portion of the dower and provide financial support during a transitional period.

For women, early Islamic law established two primary avenues to end a marriage (Khula and Faskh). In practice, however, both quickly revealed a patriarchal imbalance... Halala - originally intended as a psychological deterrent ("You won't get your wife back") - degenerated into the practice of "planned" Halala, reducing the woman within this system to a mere (sex-)object.

Mutah: Long-distance journeys and military campaigns lasting months were commonplace in Arabia. Men were often separated from their families for years. During this time, it was common to enter into informal, temporary relationships with local women.

In the early days of Islam, this practice was not immediately abolished but rather legally regulated in order to ensure at least financial security (dowry) for the women and a legitimate status - including inheritance rights and paternal recognition - for the children born of these unions.

Mutah began as a pragmatic protective measure for women in a nomadic culture defined by warfare, but historically evolved into a legalized market where sexual services could be purchased under the guise of marriage.

"I get that you are against the patriarchal system. That's fine. What I'm curious about is what kind of a system you would want?"

What rules or principles would that system have that would be different from patriarchal system. Could u please elaborate?

Isn't Islamic system divine as the rules were revealed to Prophet Mohammed by Allah himself? We should just go back to the most original form of Islam practiced during prophet Mohammad's time. Wouldn't that be divine?

Honestly, Nathu, I only posted about Halala and Mutah because you teased me in the thread about Padmavat... I won't continue to elaborate things which you can research yourself if there is genuine interest. As I never lived in an Islamic environment, don't live with Islamic people and have no Islamic people in my day-to-day environment, it bores me to explain things I just know because of my own researches and conversations with Islamic people.

You have been reading me for a long time, so you probably know that I'm no friend of any religion. I may have knowledge about them, but it is exactly this knowledge that made me turn away from religious systems-all of which have been turned by humans into something they initially weren't. Every major religion has been, and still is, misused for political agendas and power plays (and the same applies to every belief system that doesn't respect human rights and strives for possession in whatever form).

My own spirituality may have been formed by picking up thoughts from existing religions, however certainly not from those thoughts that assign greater worth to one human over another. I may have more knowledge, more money, or more influence than others, but that doesn't elevate my human worth-not even above that of a small child or a helpless elderly person.

The Institutionalization of Control: How Patriarchal Property Logic and Fear Distorted Spiritual Intent in Halala and Mutah Marriages

Introduction

When analyzing controversial practices within Islamic jurisprudence, such as Nikah Halala (the requirement for a triple-divorced woman to marry, consummate, and divorce another man before returning to her first husband) and Nikah Mut'ah (temporary marriage contracts), modern debates often stall at surface-level theological justifications. However, a deeper socio-historical and neurobiological lens reveals a timeless pattern shared across almost all world religions: the subversion of an originally elevating spiritual philosophy into a weapon of patriarchal control.

The Historical Shift: From Protection to Possession

Spiritual intent destroted in halaha and mut'ah??

Halala...an elevating spiritual philosophy ???

Halala...for protection????

I mean knowing you I am not surprised you are OK with women being passed around in the name of halala..

You seem to find a lot of positivity in the concept of halala and mut'ah

Anyways...whether its halala or jauhar...women are the ones suffering thr most ...the only reason is the barbaric islamic desert cult.

But the contrast in your tone is quite visible talking about women subjugation in both these cases. Not once you mentioned how islamic ideology wrecked havoc for hindu women forcing them to commit jauhar.

You have so much good to say about these shameful islamic practices women are put though in 21st century but there was no such research or positive outlook for hindu civilization instead you flat out blamed hindu male patriarchy for the suffering of Hindu women which was actually caused by the Islamic invaders.

But kudos to you that you have very well justified halala and mutah in the year 2026 without any shame which even a fanatic mullah wouldn't be able to. Usko bhi ek baar sharam aa jayegi that he is advocating his women sleeping around with for the mistake he himself has made.

It is really disgusting that a woman is finding halala a spiritual philosophy and protection for women.

You should be ashamed of yourself for writing so much garbage defending such disgusting practices!!! There is nothing spiritual or philosophical about forcing women to sleep with her father in law, brother in law or a random mullah.

It can only come from a pervert mind. No god will advise anyone to put their women through such horrible torture.

So kindly stop defending such perversion on a decent forum.

2 essays and Already tired ???

You wanted to write a lot about Jauhar but run away when it comes to the real problems the muslim women are currently facing???

It's always easy to criticize others' country and religion but baat jab khud pe aati hai patli gali se nikal liya..typical islamists.

Sari dikkat hindus aur india se hi hai..india forums ko internet jehad ka jariya bana beithe hai.
