Its not a controversial but a rational and a balanced opinion . He wss not hitting her just for the heck of it..we still dont know what all pre said to him...still he shouldnt have lost control ,and stoop so low. But i just hated that part of falling on her feet..damn you cvs ..sick !

One can always debate on what should one have not done or said in heated arguments in a relationship. In most heated arguments, lines get blurred & things are done which should have not happened in the first place. We judge it from our understanding & rationalitu but not from the character's & who knows how we may have reacted if situations like this were to arise in our lives. Betrayal is a very common thing in relationships in reality as well & so is different kind of reaction to it by different people.

Absolutely ! I dont mind flawed characters at all..n abs cant tolerate the saintly types ..but i cant stand the desperation being shown which surpasses all levels of sanity . I know heartbreaks , betrayal , everyone reacts differently to it ..pre went through the same , she became more despo than ever..thats shitty story telling. Frankly these 2 have done everything in "love" which lovers never do. Giving pain to each other , no trust , no understanding , no faith , no respect . I dont feel anything for them . Guess its just over for me ..i cant stand it anymore

But that's completely ok. Though all characters are equal, some characters are more equal than others.

I can see from where Anu is coming here. Sheer anger & extreme emotional vulnerability.

Prerna was terribly betrayed when it all came out in a slap. I saw a grieving woman in her back then who wanted to express how hurt & disgusted she was to the man who claimed to have loved her. No one saw misandry there. We have grown up believing that a man shouldn't hit a woman under any circumstance, even if woman pushes him to that extreme where next instinctive reaction is a slap. Of course there is a power dynamic at play since even in worst of situation, we slap only those who we believe won't attack us back. If a hurt woman's physically violent reaction is acceptable, then we should reconsider our instance on men as well. Anu doesn't have a record of being a physically abusive man from the past.

As for Anu not trying to understand the pattern on this event, I think right now he is too clouded with the heartbreak to think anything else at all. Just like how Prerna was too clouded by thought of saving Anu to not even try & escape Bajaj.

Question is- Did he really want to slap her or it came as an instinctive reaction to something Prerna said to hurt him more?

Should he have slapped her? No.

Was it justified? No. But moreover, it depends on an individual perception with everything in context. A huge grey area here.

As per the clip, did Prerna smile after getting slapped as if she was expecting this to happen? If that is so then this particular scene can be interpreted in two ways-

1. Prerna said things to push Anu off the edge & he reacted with a slap. She wanted Anu to do this because at deep level she thought it would make him feel better & she subconsciously thought that she deserved it. That is kind of masochistic trait which Prerna is doing right now since she is listening to all abuses without attempting reveal anything at all.

2. Prerna pushed Anu off the edge with her words because she knew Anu would react like that & she could use his reaction to keep him away from her further & prove her point on how he isn't good for her.

Since after this incident, Anu would try really really hard to make amends with her, stalk her to confirm if she was lying, saving her from goons, ensuring her safety & then watch her go away with Bajaj with no ability to do anything, while Prerna is still in guilt of betraying him in all this & not to forget the suicide attempt.

I know the peculiar similarity with Kabir Singh's premise & director's statement. But physical reaction in emotional situations comes when a relationship has turned very toxic, when there is total failure of communication, something AnuPre relationship is right now.

I reserve my final opinion until the episode is aired.

P.S- it's my opinion for this case. Not justifying physical violence but trying to understand human reaction & psyche behind them with context in mind. So, don't bash on me for this controversial opinion. A healthy debate is welcome.

First time I am 50-50 when it comes to your post.

I do not know in which circumstances Prerna slapped Anurag.

Prerna married Mr. Bajaj, Anurag goes after them to Switzerland, burned their bed, seeks her out, they have words and he slaps her. Anurag has slapped Komolika in past, so he does resort to violence under these circumstances. One has to learn to take rejection, violence is not acceptable. Letting go is the best thing one can do, otherwise same explanation can be given for people who throw acid on face of women when they face this situation.

This being said I do not have a problem with this because this woman Prerna should know before leaving ownership of her body to a man. If she is smiling after being slapped then I don't see why should anyone have a problem

Anu slapped Komo when she was trying to force sex on him. He refused her first but she didn't listen & as a last attempt, he slapped her in self-defence. I would say he was trying to escape forced sex when he slapped Komo in self-defence. Husband owes sex to the wife but he can't be forced to do it against his wish just like how a wife can't be forced to have sex in a marriage against her wish.

Even Prerna has a right to use self-defence of any kind if any man whosoever tries to force sex on her. Physical violence for self-defence is acceptable. No man or woman should be forced for sex in a relationship.

So, Anu slapping Komo & Anu slapping Prerna are two different things. First one was for self-defence, in hatred & he didn't regret it but this one looks to have been an instinctive reaction to something Prerna had said since he falls to her feet apologizing in the next moment & regrets his act profusely & I will have to see what exactly she said to cause Anu to end up slapping her in that heated moment.

Now coming to the rejection part, rejection should be taken with dignity but here Anu hasn't been rejected but betrayed in a relationship. Rejection & betrayal are 2 different things. Rejection is when you approach a person with romantic feelings & he/she refuses, that rejection needs to be accepted without any condition. Party that rejects you owes nothing & thus any sort of violence against this side is a crime. So, acid attack when you are rejected is a crime since other party owed you nothing at all & it was all you assuming things.

In case of betrayal, betrayed party seeks answers desperately since there is a promise from the past & thus betraying party owes answer to the betrayed person as natural human reaction to understand what went wrong & why is this happening. Violence isn't acceptable in this case as well but slapping is often an instinctive reaction in heated moments especially in young people in toxic relstionship when communication fails completely. As for letting go after being betrayed (not rejected), it's impossible thing to do unless there is a compelling closure & Prerna will have to provide it while Anu will have to accept it on his own. Anu will have that by the end of this trip. It's his 5 stages of grief- anger being one of them & will highlight his limitation & flaws as a human.

Violence is never justified but heat of moments in such situations cause instinctive speech & actions that should have never happened at all. He of course should have not slapped her but we still have to see what caused him cross his threshold.

As said, I will have to reserve my final opinion till the scene is aired.

Please see that I am not defending Anu here but trying to understand his psyche in that exact moment.

I didn't know that Komolika was forcing herself on Anurag. I get squimish with the idea of anyone slapping a woman, there is something very humiliating about slap in the face. Anurag is surely stronger than Komolika, he could have pushed her or left the room. I agree with the self-defence part.

I agree, Rejection was not a correct term. Prerna betrayed Anurag, he needs answers, he is angry and I do not expect him to be in his senses after what happened with him. I understand his actions, like I am trying to understand Bajaj's actions.

A human when is not in right mind can be what he would not think of doing when he has time to ponder about it. We can understand what he did and why he did i, but he is wrong, regardless of provocation.

If he did not act holier than thou, I am ready to accept it as his flaw, anger is an issue with practically everyone in this world

I think one of the reasons many people find it really hard to accept Anu doing this is because they hold him to a really holy standard & forget his limitations & flaws as a human. It's a black & white thing for many but here this Anu is grey.

Since I enjoy Bajaj & have been invested in his grey character, so I see this as a grey of Anu, a flaw of him at present, an imperfect human.
