Part 1

“Rain slips through your fingers as easily as words blow away in the wind, and yet it has the power to destroy your whole world.”

― Karen Maitland, Company of Liars

Every day I feel today I won’t feel as intensely as I did in the past episode and every episode AM surprise me. The writers have written their characters so well Mashallah. I loved how the episode began with Abhir offering to give a lift to Maasi. I am not sure if he knows the actual truth about her but I admire the way he treats her unlike Kunal who is downright mean to her. Abhir is so quick to notice that something is bothering her but he doesn’t pressurise her to confide in him. Ignoring the trash scene in between the scene cuts to Abhir sitting in the mandir where he happily reads Mishti’s message. His banter with her and God is so amusing. I rofled at his description of his family’s drama quotient being equivalent to a daily soap. Then he gets a few signs from God and is so happy to see Mish standing beside him.

A:“Arey hum larkay walay hain chup chup kay kuch nahi kartay baarat lay kar ghar par ahatay hain”

M:“What larkay walay…?”

I guess these cuties sometimes forget they are talking about Kuku and instantly start talking about themselves. Again the Massi and Abhir scene at the mandir was adorable. He cares about her opinion but she is so disturbed by how Kunal behaves that she believes her input is not important. Abhir and Kunal both love each other a lot but the way they love is so different. Abhir cares about the consequences of his actions in the name of love and even asks for guidance and correction. In short he listens. Whereas Kunal likes to enforce his opinions and blames the other party for the failure of a relationship.

I love Misthi’s inner monologue.

“Misthi tujhay kia padhi thi painting wali ki baat karnay ka… Par tu kia karti who khud toh koi chance chod tha nahi painting wali ki baat karnay ka..par painting main toh tu hi hain na” She is mentally chiding herself for bringing that topic up but then she acknowledges how Abhir is always interested in talking about the mystery girl for a minute it irks her but then she remembers that its her. She is so lost in her thought that BM calls her out on it. I also loved how respectful Abhir was to BM. BM unknowingly has given Abhir such a sweet dua that may God grant all his wishes. I hope He does and I know God will and we all know what Abhir wishes for secretly. This small exchange between Abhir and BM instils so much hope in me about the future of AM. Notice here how Mish is enamored by him like she is so impressed by Abhir and his words when he puts an emphasis on ‘Misthi ki BM’. Pata hain hum jab kisi say pyar kartay hain toh uss say judi har cheez humrahy li bohot aham ho jaati hain(When we love someone the things that are associated with them become important for us). Her Abhir so subtly convey to Misthi that how much he respects her BM and BP. He even goes on to show his solidarity with Kuhu. He reassures them that he will treat Kuhu like a little sister and Mish is so mesmerised. The gal is feeling so many emotions and is genuinely so impressed by him. It was adorable how hopeful Abhir sounded when asking BM if BP will relent and give in but BM doesn’t make any false promises.

“Abhir tumhay kisi ki help ki zarorrat nahi hain na meri na painting wali ki” You know why she says that because this man , this amazing human specimen has so respectfully asked for something from her elders in an age where most people don’t care about these little values/gestures. He truly amazes her sometimes and hence, she feels this man doesn’t need anyone’s help

“Tumay baton painting wali kon.. Meri dil main aisay ghanta bajati hain…” Abhir can’t handle his excitement.

Her conscious berates her for bringing that topic up again. She is still not ready. ”Idiot phir say painting ki baat shudu kar di”

“Tumhay jana na uss ka naam kiya hain?”

“Umm mujay jaan na hi nahi hain” Because him saying it will make it real and it will force her to acknowledge it and she avoids the conversation. Her inner frustration takes a toll on her and she lashes out on Abhir. Her uneasiness is so visible.

“Stop it dekho meray pass time nahi hain.. tumnay kia yay painting painting ki ratt lagyi rakhi hain arts and crafts ka bhi koi time hota hain” Indirectly she is saying here that now is not the right time to discuss their dynamic. She tells him to think about Kunal par Misthi dear pyar waqt aur haalat ko thodi dekh kar hota hain pyar toh bas ho jaata hain.

Part 2

What if tomorrow vanished in the storm? What if time stood still? And yesterday--if once we lost our way, blundered in the storm--would we find yesterday again ahead of us, where we had thought tomorrow's sun would rise?”

Robert Nathan, Portrait of Jennie

The news report warns about an impending storm that will surely shift the dynamics of the AM relationship. I loved the small scene between BP and Mishti. He knows the dreams his pseudo daughter has and how she loves helping people but he also knows that out of Kuhu and Mish, she is the more understanding one. She tell her BP that they won’t take any drastic measures but kia karay pyar main insaan bohot kuch kar jaata hain jo shahid insaan normally na karay(In love a person can do things he/she never imagined of doing). She is shaken out of her thoughts when Nanu calls her and tells her about Abhir’s disappearance. She turns on the TV and is visibly distressed and worried. She frantically exclaims:”Abhir tum kaha ho?” A question that haunts her as she remembers the times Abhir saved her when he stepped in fire in order to get her out, when he acted as a human shield in between her and Ved and my favorite moment when he adorably gave her new glasses when he got to know that her previous ones were broken and the exact moment he puts them on and she sees him clearly is also the same time I believe she started seeing Kunal and her dynamic with him clearly. Her mind also reminds her of the painting and how he loves her. She has to do something. I mentioned earlier that loves makes us do crazy things sometimes. These are things that a sane rational human being will never do like a girl going out in the torrential rain to find out the boy who loves her so passionately and for whom even she has started feeling so intensely. Her own safety be damned she has to save him so she rushes to his NGO office.

“Abhir kaha hain” her brain and heart all are asking the same question. She gets to know that he hasn't come back and is still out there somewhere.

“What! Oh God cyclone kay waqt toh sab ko ghar par hona chaiyay lekin Abhir bhair hain ussay kuch ho gat oh?” Her mind voices out her worst fear. What if something happens to him then what will she do? You see we humans have this tendency to take things for granted its only when tragedy strikes and our save haven is threatened when we realize how important some people are in our lives. She frantically calls him and screams” Abhir… phone uthao? Come on. Didi Abhir phone nahi utha raha” The NGO lady reassures her that he will be okay but her heart and mind don’t listen “Who abhi tak wapis nahi ahaya” This one sentence is so powerful as it echoes her internal fear the people closest to her have always left and not come back what if he doesn’t. No she won’t let that happen every fibre of her being is telling her that something is not right he must be in danger. Remember how saathiya ray had that opening line”Ristha tera meri rooh say aisay joodha hain ray…” which signified how their souls are connected. Here Abhir’s soul is calling out to Misthi after all her as Abhir said their hearts have a conversation of their own. She can’t sit and wait any longer she has to do something.

“Misthi bhair mat jaon bhair bohot khatara hain”

“Khatara hain iss liay mera jana bohot zaroori hain.. Abhir khatary main hain aur main aisay bhait nahi sakti” Her heart and mind will not let her rest unless she finds him. So a fragile girl steps out in the eye of the storm all her fragility forgotten because love can turn even ordinary humans into warriors. She runs here and there frantically and calls out his name. Its a desperate cry of an agitated heart that yearns too see its other half in good health. The storm is raging on the outside and her internal psyche is also in complete chaos the storm is not external anymore. She reminisces what he said to her at numerous occasions:

“Abhir… Abhir Abhir

“Yay hi toh problem hain pyar karany walon ki. Pyar ko dil main iss tarah chupa kar rakhtay hain kay dil ko bhi pata nahi chalta”

This is such an important dialogue that Mish chooses to remember. A is right sometimes we guard are heart so fiercely and bury our feelings for someone so deeply that even we don’t acknowledge that we do love the other person. Embracing love makes us vulnerable but today the rain and the storm are bring her buried feelings to the surface.

“Tum mujay batanay walay thay na uss painting main kon hain par tum nay ajj tak nahi batay”

“Actually woh sahi waqt nahi ayaya tha”

This particular dialogue refers to the fact on how we humans delude ourselves in to thinking that now is not the right time for certain things. However, the rain makes her realize that the timing is never right but that you have to make it right. Waqt sahi hi hota hain agar doh insaan aik dossray kay liay sahi ho.

“Aur agar kisi ki khusiyan tumhary khusyion say juri ho toh?”

This was said to her by Abhir and now as she searches from him here and there she realizes that maybe even her happiness is tied to his and she wouldn’t want to lose him.

“Agar jis say main pyar karta hu wohi iss larai main meray saath nahi kadhi hui toh main samaj lung a uss nay meray say kabhi pyar kia hi nahi”

Before the rain wrecked havoc in their lives she was reluctant to fight for him and for each other but now she wants to fight. If only she could find him at this moment and show him how valiantly she is fighting nature for a chance to be with him would also make him realize that she does care and she does love him.

Now let me take you back to a conversation AM had earlier in the episode that I purposely left out in part 1:

“Tumahri help kon karay ga?” Mish teases him

“Meri painting wali hain na who kari gi na meri help” He says it with so much conviction because he knows that Mish won’t ever shy away from helping him and she doesn’t. She does go out of her way to help him. Abhir was right painting wali hain na who will brave any storm to make sure that he is safe😊

Yeah in times like these we get to know the worth of people in our life. In desperate times our heats mind and soul always gravitate towards the things that really matters and right now for Mish that's Abhir.
