Anyhow, about the character..
The extreme reactions RB has been generating.. the original grey antihero of Indian television for a reason.. So it's working out in that sense.. If only we actually saw him in the soap as well.. not just in promos.. 😆
When you can justify your antihero through romantic lenses, he isn't much of an antihero.. antiheroes should trouble and intrigue you.. You should even hate them.. But not bcs of physical aggression but authority and manipulation.. Gul always fails to create the missing link of emotional authority and physical aggression.. I'm not saying this show is doing it any better.. It has worse writing in every sense.. but RB right now, feels troubling bcs he makes you think a little.. that is, if you're making an attempt to be neutral.. It also has to do with him interfering in the lives of leads but parallel leads aren't often very interesting.. he is an exception I'd say.. The problem is I have no faith in the writing or execution of anything in this show.. It'd be ideal if he is neither white nor black.. The supposed romantic pair is leaving me cold so I have negative interest in that.. But the soap being extremely lead centric in a very weird sort of way (it revolves exclusively around leads but the leads are also written badly.. make it make sense).. I have no hope they're gonna do justice to RB's character individually..
The marriage deal and everything else surrounding it seem to be very rushed and unplanned..
