Javed Jaaferi’s son, Meezaan Jaaferi is all set to make his big screen debut opposite Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s niece Sharmin Segal. The two new faces of the film industry received immense appreciation for their performance in the trailer that was unveiled last month and considering the film is backed by one of Bollywood’s biggest filmmakers, the expectations are high!
However, Meezaan claims that this will not be the first time that he will be seen on the big screen. Surprisingly, the young actor was the stand-in for Ranveer Singh in Padmaavat directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, which also featured Deepika Padukone, Shahid Kapoor in pivotal roles.
In an interview with Mumbai Mirror, Meezaan revealed, "I was assisting Sanjay sir on Padmaavat. One day, they were discussing how difficult it would be to shoot certain scenes as Ranveer was unavailable. To my surprise, Sanjay sir said that I should do it. The next day, I was asked to memorize all of Ranveer’s gestures and lines.”
Both Ranveer and Meezaan have similar body structures which made the procedure easier.
Recently, the aspiring actor was rumoured to be dating Amitabh Bachchan’s Granddaughter Navya Naveli. To which he cleared the air stating, “We are from the same friends’ circle, she’s my sister’s bestie and a really good friend. I’m not in a relationship with anyone.”
Malaal is a romantic drama and a remake of Tamil film 7G Rainbow Colony. Directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, the film starring Meezaan Jaaferi and Sharmin Segal is slated to release on July 9, 2019.
