Though I'll say,Mamata's appeasing politics is one of the reasons Bengal has gotten so communal. It takes a lot to rile Bengali Hindus up cz Bengalis are not very religious , most r atheist or agnoistic. CPM needs new batch of leaders. SFI needs to buckle up too. Mamta hate has been majorly due to the refugee thing,the vote bank and for the students the lack of employment opportunities. The CPM votes have gone to Modi which makes sense cause they want Mamta gone but Modi stands for everything a true Bengal doesn't stand for.

Hindus have been known to be tolerant since ages..why the sudden surge in so called intolerance?

It's all bcoz if the divisive politics of the leftists, Lutyens media and pseudo seculars..their constant blabbering, criticism of everything related to religion, bringing up non issues time n again really riled up Hindus..if they r blamed for being what they never were..better be worthy of the blame. I guess this turned many liberal Hindus into staunch supporters of Hinduism.

So the opposition is responsible for what it is blaming on the govt.. dividing the country on the basis of religion and caste.

Yes new young leaders is necessary. I've known few cpim leaders personally and honestly the party is more or less less corrupted than most parties, and principles are still very intact. But they need to get with modern era, opposing computers etc was such a mad thing to by Jyoti Basu. Buddhadeb was a good man but not skilled politician. CPIM needs someone better n young,n I do not mean the tukde tukde gang by that.someone who truly wants to uplift the labour class n bring practical ground level development.

Mamata is losing grip due to many reasons. She's a skilled politician but is dumb too. Can't face confrontation, can't endure opposition. I remember she tagged that girl cpim maoist or something who questioned her in presidency college. She kept appeasing minorities not because she cared about them but cz she wanted their votes. Thus she didn't really do anything truly developmental for them,just gave them free rain which actually really affected moderate ones who don't want to go by religion so strictly. Durning shab e Barat she let all those flyovers be highjacked by them, and Noone dared say anything. Women swimming club got closed due to some maulavis complaining. The cycles,kanyashree etc too r tactics to keep the below poverty votes ensured but didn't do anything to give those people actual jobs,no Industry nothing. Instead said chop industry muri industry.

People were bound to get angry. Also during the panchayat election many were not allowed to vote due to dadagiri,even some tmc supporters all of them voted bjp this year.

Huge chunk of cpim vote went to bjp cz people knew cpim can't win . They wanted to teach tmc a lesson. But yes,bjp is not the lesser of the evil imo. And totally doesn't suit to bengali culture. They came here with a very Bengal needs to be more religious mindset,and Bengalis will never like that. You can't come here n tell us what rabindranath meant n use Vivekananda to propagate communal thoughts, and say Noone should eat nonveg during Durgapuja. If bjp wants to rule here, they'll have to accept the moderate religious culture of bengal
