It is surprising that, such a huge (entertainment) industry in India, never thought about having a proper (transparent) recruitment section. What about things like minimum wages, restriction on number of working hours etc? Too much to ask?

When the industry goes to PM asking for benefits, they should also be able to explain, how they have improved worker's condition.

You should also tell your friend to be careful of the scamsters. Recently I got a message on FB by someone masquerading as a casting director from Balaji telefilms offering me work in Bollywood. Lol I'm sure there must be plenty of these types.

you may not be able to work on a visit visa but you surely can meet agencies and audition on it..that is what she should do imo..once she lands something..then the contractor or the agency themselves will handle her visa and work permit issues..

Thanks for your reply. I told her about this but apparently as a French citizen, she'd have to ga back to France to change her visa. It wouldn't be convenient.

Otherwise, if it's the only way to go she'll try it out. And she still has some time before her planned departure.

You're right, one might never know who is behind a screen. I'll be sure to stress this point to her.

I'm sure she'll be careful though.
