Indian Talent Agency

Hi, I have some questions regarding the industry for a friend of mine who would like to foray in the film industry (Bollywood or SI - even though she does plan to try Mumbai first).

1. Could you tell me the name of some Talent Agencies ? I only know of Kwan and Bling.

2. Is it better to try to contact a talent agency first or is it better to model first as it might be easier?

3. Regarding the Visa. What kind of visa should she apply for ? She looked it up but none seems to fit?

Join Salman’s talent agency..he does help outsiders. Warina got loveratri through the agency. Also mukesh chabra has a talent management thing. All the dangal girls were casted through him,including zaira all the way from Kashmir.

I don't think that's the way she wants to go...

I'm not too aware of how this industry works but even before going for talent agencies, maybe she should audition for roles or ads. She can build her way up. It's not easy but if she is determined and most of all, talented, it will eventually work out. Try talent hunts maybe. Again, you have to start from the bottom and work your way up. Tell her to try all revenues. Modelling, acting, ads, print ads, radio rj, etc. Once she gets in, she can pave her path.

Get some auditions, try some agencies, see if you can get a proper photoshoot and portfolio done. Etc.

Thanks I'll tell her all this but she was wondering about the visa because if she goes to India she'll need and she's not sure which one to get.

For a work visa she'll need to have signed a contract with an Indian firm beforehand as she'll intend to work there but the thing is she'll most certainly need to be there to be able to get a chance to sign anything.

The problem with a tourist visa is that it'll be illegal for her to gat work there if she's on one.

So how can she proceed to get entry in the country legally to be able to do castings and potentially get work ?

Is she person of india origin... or nri.. does she hold any such card or benifits? Does she have anyone from family stayinh in india... very difficult to help with ur info. Plz tell more. Maybe someone can help.

She's a French citizen of German/Reunionese origin hence why it would be very complicated for her in term of documentation (visa and such).

She doesn't have any link in term of nationality with India even though her reunionese side is ethnically Indian.

She doesn't have any family in India but is going to go there with a friend of hers who is planning to intern in a firm there.

I think all these established foreign actresses who have made it big esp katrina..all came on a visit visa..tried their luck and when proper work started coming in..only then were they on a valid visa..

you may not be able to work on a visit visa but you surely can meet agencies and audition on it..that is what she should do imo..once she lands something..then the contractor or the agency themselves will handle her visa and work permit issues..
