Total Dhamaal Highest Non Holiday Figures For A Comedy

Total Dhamaal did had a good first week as it picked up 93 crore nett which is the highest non holiday Ajay Devgn total and the highest non holiday first week for a comedy. Not only was it not a holiday release but there was not even a minor holiday in any day of the week to help it along. Today even a small hold can make a 20-30% difference on that day. The film opened well on most places and then really scored on Sunday with a 25 crore nett total. Thereafter the weekdays have held up well across the board.
The film is a HIT and it remains to be seen if it can be a SUPER HIT. The second Friday will tell where this film can go and if it has chance to hit the 150 crore nett mark. There are two new films releasing this week so there has been a loss of screen time but its pretty certain that the families will come out on Saturday and Sunday again and the film is sure to give some sort competition to the main new release Lukka Chuppi.
The film has performed strongly all over the country but especially Gujarat / Saurashtra, UP and Central India. The three circuits of Rajasthan / CP Berar / CI hace clocked 16 crore nett in week one and in these markets it looks like it can beat the numbers of Uri - The Surgical Strike. The first week collections are a few lakhs less than the first week of Gully Boy but that is because that film had a four day weekend and pulled in 19 crore nett on day one which was Valentines Day.
